I occasionally checked in on him while he was at A&M, hoping he would blow up and become a great NFL prospect.  This is awesome.  I feel like his dad doesn’t get enough love for how great of a player he was.  I certainly hope lil Moose eventually gets on the roster…  this is the stuff movies are made of.

Cause he played for us and the Bears lol.  He was a very good starter for a relatively long time.

hes pretty good.  has a shot. WR room is crowded.  people may not like it but theilen may get traded to eliminate the tunnel vision to him from Bryce

It won't be to eliminate Bryce's tunnel vision, but unless we're legitimate playoff contenders at the deadline, I'd be shocked if Thielen isn't traded during the season.

I can't see any way he is a Panther next season, he either retires or signs with a contender for one final shot at a ring.  So if that's the case, we're not legit playoff contenders, and he's playing well, I do think some contending team that could use a steady WR will give us like a 4th for him at the deadline hoping it will be the last piece to the SB puzzle they need.

Keep Thielen around through camp and the early season to help the young guys get up to speed, then if we can get a 4th for a guy who won't be back next year you jump all over it and then go out and sign whoever the best vet FA on the market is to replace Thielen's mentorship in the WR if needed (maybe Renfrow after he doesn't make the final 53 in the end?)

Crazy. I was with Moose about 22 or 23 years ago in Charleston. He was signing autographs at the Bank of America Panther Caravan Tour meet and greet... I was the last guy to speak with Moose, and he apologized and said he had to go. His wife just went into labor. As he was walking he grabbed my stuff and signed it as he walked off. I congratulated him, and he thanked me. I was with his dad on his birthday.

You definitely need to bring your gear to training to get Lil Moose to sign it too. That would be the coolest poo ever!

Oh, man. Hearing "Muhammad!" from the play by play announcer just unlocked a core memory for me. That brought me right back to the call of the 85-yarder in the Super Bowl, which just lives deeply in my psyche.

"Looking. Looking. Gonna go deep. Has his man WIDE OPEN. It's Muhammad. MUHAMMAD! To the 15, 10, 5, Touchdown!"

Okay, I now have an active rooting interest in him making this roster. I need that back in my life.

Rooting for him. Was just reading up, doesn't seem like he got a lot of opportunities. Seems like his mental game is what he will have to overcome. Hopefully being close to home lets him focus. A little insight ( second hand, just what I saw posted ) :

He has all the skills but was nonexistent under two different coaching staffs. He butted heads and was benched under Jimbo (for wearing sleeves under his uniform after the coaching staff told him not to 🙄). Then under the new staff, he rarely saw the field – he had just 55 yards last season.

When he saw the field, he either made the most impressive play of the game or would get an unsportsmanlike penalty. Just a bizarre case because he has the talent.

Aggie here to provide some insight. As the other poster mentioned, Moose had a weird time at A&M and it didn't help that Jimbo's offense was painful and wide receivers never seemed to excel. His third year was promising but he was also competing with Evan Stewart, Noah Thomas, and Chase Lane who I'm pretty sure were all 5*s. Also Ainais Smith and Devon achane ran majority of the offense.

That said, going into his last year with Jimbo, a couple guys like Lane and Achane left, and most Ags thought this would be the year Moose really steps up. Unfortunately as the other poster mentions, he disappeared into misconduct and coaching change.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
