Morgan looking for aa FA Free Safety

I am thinking they flip where the run D is closer to 23 and the pass D closer to last years 32. I just don't see the pass rush being impressive, especially if they are getting rid of Clowney. Thankfully they were able to keep Jackson but if horn goes down again it could get comical.

The offense is betting on Moton's knee holding up and the defense is hoping their $100m CB can play more than half the games.  He has missed 29 games.

I trust Dan to be aggressive next off season to address our safety/CB issues next year. Dan has been aggressive addressing each position one off season at a time. Year 1 was o line, year 2 was defensive front.

I mean we have Horn as CB1 with a lot of cap space allocated to him. Jackson seems fine as CB2 and Chau looked good at NB. We 100% need some depth and a FS but nothing like the OL/DL overhaul they did these past 2 years. Moehrig and Horn are the their expensive secondary pieces going forward.

Justin Simmons please. He's far better than the other options being discussed in here. He's more expensive but if we were supposedly trying to trade for Tee Higgens, then we can afford a better FS than Marcus Williams.

the ONLY issue I have the Morgan's draft is that they went RB Etienne at 111 and then Safety (Strong Safety) Ransom at 122. Having signed Moehrig, they should have drafted Bowman (who was picked at 118) at 111 and hoped for Etienne at 122.

Christensen re-signing eases some of my concerns about Moton in the short-term. Yeah, he's not Moton but it's not like we're going to have to trot Byron Bell out there if he can't make it.

When asked about Ransom Morgan was clear to describe his role and a strong safety but was quick to add that he can play deep as well.    Said the same thing about Moerhig.  I think we are going to start both and their roles will be interchangeable.  I think either could play up and either could stay back.  I think both could play up and both could play deep.  Think of this--if the C identifies the mike LB, the QB has to be aware of the free safety.  What if they switch?

Does it matter if neither can cover? LOL

    • fug the dirty ass pistons and the refs. Tough to lose the streak but incredible showing from the players, the fans and coach Lee. This was a very important game for the development of this young team. The culture has changed. I’m confident the boys can beat the Hawks short handed and get things right back on track after the all star break
    • That was great.  BTW Sumer Sports is where we got Eager.     From a real zoomed out perspective we could maybe have a great draft and sign a high profile FA and all the stuff we have seen Morgan do but the Icky thing is a major monkey wrench.    if Bryce plays like he did vs LA Rams Wild Card and a couple of his other top games, and we get a great draft and FA, maybe we get to 9-10 wins.   Want to bet?    I don’t bet just saying. If I did I wouldn’t bet on that all happening. It could, and could even be better but you are betting on that QB being what his fans claim he is, every week. Not just sometimes.  All 4 quarters in at least ten to 15 games. Good luck.
    • This game was the exact reason I was pissed when the Hornets didn't trade for Jaren Jackson Jr. Have been saying all year Moussa is going to get dominated by any center with any ounce of muscle and skill.  That was put on full display tonight.  He didn't score, and had a -13 (+/-) rating.  Meanwhile, Duren was on his way to a 20 & 10 game and a +15 rating before Moussa got them both ejected to stop the embarrassment he was getting handed. Detroit -2.5 was easy money.
