How would you feel if Bryce did this in 2025

That would put him top ten in touchdowns based on the QB numbers from last year. That would be impressive.

The completion percentage is firmly in the 20-25 range of meh.

I think as far as rushing that's a bit of an enigma. But we should probably go ahead and unblur the line between possibility and sheer hopium. I do not think any of us should want him running in the open field. Extending plays with his legs? Sure. Expecting him to have 5 rushing touchdowns? Idk how realistic that is. And all it's going to take is one big hit and bye bye that goes.

It really boils down for me to putting touchdowns on the board. I'm willing to give him leeway in the statistical categories if he is leading us to consistent redzone scoring percentages. And with the offensive pieces we have around him now that should not be a problem.

that’s incredibly comparable to Mahomes’ stat line from last season

The league has moved past the mid 2010s insane production bump league wide that we saw in that window these past few seasons. I think people are setting outrageous expectations for what constitutes a “solid” season.

Some of you Bryce haters can call yourself realists all you want to but even if he did put up those stats or better next year, you would all just say "well let's see if he can do it again, because a lot of quarterbacks have had one good season" or "not that he's good so much as he has so much talent around him". You wouldn't give him the credit he's due and it's exhausting

thats never going to happen

Like Jaylin Noel being taken before 57.

It's a reasonable expectation outside of the 5 rushing tds

He had 6 rushing TDs last year!  I actually project those to be on the lower side in 2025 due to having better passing options in the red zone

Fair take, I feel more confident on his passing TDs than the passing yards. I think he will be seeing some shorter fields due to an improved defense. I think the passing percentage is a reflection of taking more shots downfield

Our redzone passing options on paper have improved significantly and we've also strengthened the run game.

I would say the passing yardage overall isn't all that important it's more about seeing a viable passing offense and taking those deep shots to keep the defense honest like you say. What TMac brings to the offense especially with his catch radius is going to be a big jolt for this group.

    • I'm looking at the schedule and I see a 10+win season easy.  I think Carolina goes undefeated in the division.  I also believe that the Bears, Bengals, Lions, Browns, Steelers are very winnable.  Revenge game with phillips and the eagles could be a win.  Honestly only 2 games I see as chalking up a L to off the bat is the Seahawks and Broncos.
    • I guess so. Don't think I was involved with previous discussions.  Tepper is one of the newest owners in the NFL. Dan is going into his 3rd season as a GM - ever. Dave is going into his 3rd season as a HC - ever. Before becoming a HC, he was an OC/playcaller for one season total. Idzik is about to go into his 1st year as a play caller - ever. WRs are rookies, sophomores and 3rd year guys - though the experienced 3rd year guys are XL and Coker (who has missed a ton of games). TEs are guys going into their 2nd and 3rd seasons, and Tommy Tremble - though Sanders has missed a ton of games. QB has played 3 years. Chuba is an experienced RB, but Brooks and Etienne have taken very little snaps at the position. O-line is more experienced vets with some talent - which is HUGE. Need them to stay healthy. I mean the offense is very young in every aspect except O-line. You see it differently?
