And yet people can’t understand why we can’t pull off back to back winnning seasons.  It’s not hard to figure out.   It’s probably the most simple problem I have seen.  Draft Tigers, not Gamecocks.  Science.

*FAs don’t count.  Not science.  We have done that before.  Hopefully this one is better than that last experiment

As an Auburn fan I think we need to keep going with real tigers. Cam and DB worked out pretty good…

I’m okay with Auburn Tigers.  Pretty solid when going that route.  Especially first rounders

Well... we're still not sure about the #1 WR either. That's a lot of expectations for a rookie that hasn't taken an NFL snap yet. And a couple of 2nd year guys that are expected to show major improvement.

Last year's group showed potential. But if we're being honest, they were probably the worst in the NFL.

Edit: But I love your optimism!!!

In fairness, Cam won a MVP and took us to a super bowl with no WR1 to speak of.

We had our close losses last year to playoff teams. Ill take winning any day. Fug a couple draft spots. Gimme a couple more wins and a playoff berth all day

It (normally) takes a few seasons of playoff appearance and knocking on the door to win a championship. It’s very rare a team pops up out of no where and wins a Super Bowl, they’ve usually been hanging around in the playoffs a few years before but there are notable exceptions. You gotta build it. If the Panthers made the playoffs and lost in the first round I’d be very happy about the future

I'm not sure what they are calling catchable, but alot of those passes by BY were not good passes.  I hope he improves this year but his passes over 20 yards needs work

Definitely looks that way when 40% of the passes are uncatchable. That would mean that 14 of those 35 passes would not be catchable. But for perspective, these are the rankings they've shown thus far in the top-10:

  • 1. Michael Penix Jr (77% on 13 attempts)
  • 2. Anthony Richardson (76% on 33 attempts)
  • 4. Brock Purdy (69% on 32 attempts)
  • 5. Dak Prescott (68% on 22 attempts)
  • 6. Joe Burrow (66% on 35 attempts)
  • t10. Bryce Young (60% on 35 attempts)
  • t10. Baker Mayfield (60% on 35 attempts)

People got upset when XL dropped a TD, but there were several times he was wide open downfield and BY threw a horrible pass.  No more excuses for Bryce

I don't think we're in a position to be dunking on other QB's yet. I mean Caleb Williams and the Bears took our lunch money and dunked our heads in a toilet then stuffed us in a locker last season and CJ Stroud sophomore slump or not had one of the best rookie seasons for a QB in a long time.

Let's see Bryce and this offense at work on the road in their first two games and then maybe we can think about trying to thump our chests at the rest of the NFL if we look the part.

Honestly just glancing at those numbers, I’m just happy about the attempts. Looks like he was on par with Baker who is known to push the ball down field. I hope this trend continues and really opens up our whole offense.
Side note, Penix only having 13 attempts and most were probably against our 3rd stringers that last game should exclude him IMO.

Cam was generational. He could have been the GOAT. Every team was afraid that "if he put it all together" he would be unstoppable. I'm not sure Young will ever be thought of in that light. Not many in the league will. But to be fair, Cam had a defense that could carry the team some games.

The downside to Cam for us is that he was so good at carrying an offense that it made our already defensive minded brain trust feel like they could just focus on building a D and let Cam just carry the offense.

I would've loved to have seen what prime Cam could've done with a top tier offensive roster but alas.
