If Richardson can overcome the injuries, he'll still have to overcome being a bad NFL QB.

I think it shows no matter how talented you are you need those vital college games/reps.  The NFL isnt a place to learn the actual game/position.   You need reps upon reps against various levels of talent and the nfl aint it.

The irony, Richardson was the most physically gifted specimen in the draft and scouts thought he could take NFL hits, now he is an injury prone QB. Bryce Young was the smallest QB and there were concerns how long he would last in the NFL. Now Bryce has been more durable than Richardson.

I wouldnt be dunking one way or another at this point, as we know from past experience all it takes is one hit and thats a wrap so being tough or avoiding injuries isnt some crazy skill or talent.  Hes going to get hurt at some point, all qbs do, we just hope its not a doozy when it happens.

Richardson is by far the worst college QB I can remember going that high.  There’s usually going to be an adjustment period at every level when guys move up.  But expecting a guy who wasn’t very good in college to be worth a top 5 pick is just not rational.

It's early to say anything about these guys' durability. Cam was the biggest tank in the league who would never miss a snap until he wasn't. TD missed 3 seasons due to ACL tears and his career was written off and then he became an absolute ironman.

I feel like Jalen Milroe is this year's Anthony Richardson, but he was drafted in the third round with no plans for him to start his first year. He has a much better chance to make it.  They thought AR was going to learn to pass in the NFL by being a staring running qb who cannot keep a defense honest.  It should not be a surprise that he is struggling and picking up injuries.

I hope peeps don't bump my draft QB ranks where I had Anthony Ricardson ranked above BY.....

Add another selfburn, I had Levis right next to BY if not slightly above him a couple different ranks.....

* I did have stroud clear #1...

*** BUT the way trends are currently....... its too early still, but BY is pointing up at least while the others are down....

Still wish that trepper never forced that trade, but I totally get he was beyond tired of waiting for a QB savior. Dang tepper, if you had the coaching staff, either Baker or Sam Darnold would have been the guy.

here I feel is the greatest overlooked skill for QBs. Being able to avoid hits, guess who was the best at that- Tom Brady. If you watch enough clips, you will see Tom take one side step left or step up, it perfectly avoids the defenders pressure. The other level is, he did so before he needed to. Just a grand master.  It's simply a godlike trait and no one talks about it.

I've pooped on BY plenty, he's much better than I thought at avoiding hits while running and still learning the master art of making defenders miss in passing situations.

    • That he gets worse while at the same time getting more exposure is just typical.
    • And, yes, I've been a slow boil, but watching continually watching shitty displays of football for weeks has me frustrated.
    • Bryce just didn't maximize Hunter Renfrow's skills. ***rant incoming*** But this isn't just about Bryce Young mistiming passes to Renfrow so bad that he's going to get Renfrow killed or hurt, this is also about incompetentence by Dave Canales. Renfrow can still play. He's putting DBs in a blender out there---making them play twister at the top of routes to keep up with him, and dumb Dave has the nerve to cut him. How about putting Hunter in the best position to help the damned offense by appreciating his skill set, DC? You're letting Bryce's apparent inability to make an accurate throw, or at least his timidity to push the ball down the damned field cloud your judgment and miscalculate talent---or maybe just miss on talent just as much as Bryce misses passes due to playing pussified football. It's fúcking unacceptable.  Speaking of misjudgment, I don't know if it's Dan Morgan or Canales, but Eijiro Evero is not the business at DC. I have said a few times that his scheme is not conducive to run-stopping efficiency. Hell, and after watching some clips of plays, now I absolutely know why. The gaps are at least half open before the play even fúcking starts. You are setting the opposition's RBs up for success with too much damned space at the line and in the second level. If our guys are taken out in these areas---at the line and in the second level---then the defense is screwed because it must rely on the safeties to cover too much ground to make the tackle. At least put Ransom in who is motivated to seek and destroy if you're going to effectively leave the safeties on an island.  And speaking of rookies, get our two new defensive ends more snaps to see if we can't generate more of a pass rush. For all the good the continued sorry display of defense that you're putting out for fan's to see (Ejiro, Dave and Dan), you may as well get the rookies generously involved. Fúck that money we gave second-rate (maybe second-rate) vets, we need a damned spark getting after the QB. Watch it, it's just another breakdown of the sh¡t we were subjected to last week. I say this with all respect: Fúck you, Dave! Fúck you, Dan! Learn how to run a fúcking franchise. Maximize the players, regardless of what you think you're supposed to do by the book. Cut the dead weight before another season is lost and fans lose interest in September. EE is "Ew!" Or for emphasis "EEw!" /end rant
