We had Thomas Davis on the roster as an unknown,  and starting Dan Connor, James Anderson, and Omar Gaither in 2011 and 2012 flipped quickly.

Its a marathon not a sprint.

It's aggravating but at this point just let it ride until next year. But I do imagine Morgan will be leaving no stone unturned after roster cuts begin.

Rhule was a fugup for more than one reason and his own specific reasons. Dan Morgan has really proven to be different. I'm not going to look at moves by Dan Morgan through the same prism or within the same context.

Our linebacker corp is screwed, and that's ironic to me. Get Ron Rivera in the building for just one off-season please. 

No one in the league has replaced Luke....

He was the last off ball LB to win DPOY and probably will be for the foreseeable future.

The position is down not even any really elite MLBs in the league right now.

What difference does that make? Are any of you suggesting that we shouldn't replace a backup, especially for a position that's already considered a weakness?

Everyone wants to act like someone is Chicken Little for discussing potential common sense moves. That's what the Huddle has devolved to over the years.

Look at the bright side.  There’s not much difference in this guy vs whoever else doesn’t have a team.  Our backup LBs are replacement level roster churn.  The upside is they are replaceable.

Most everyone realizes the moves are coming but that they're going to come as other teams trim down their rosters. We all know we're weak at LB but the names on couches haven't changed. There's no one out there we want to add. Prepare to be unimpressed by the names we ultimately add to round out our roster but it is what it is. Our lack of urgency at the position tells me that Morgan thinks our starters are "good enough" behind a significantly upgraded DL and that we'll look to upgrade our depth.

I wish I could say it was different, but he's right. And I'm not sure how good our starting MLBs are, either. 

I still miss the 4-3 defense, but aside from that, we haven't prioritized MLB since Shaq was drafted. And it shows. Hopefully someone will show out this year. Roseboom, he's your shot.

This. There just aren't any realistic options we can add at this point. Best we can hope for is for Trevin Wallace has a breakout year. And even then we're likely going to have to add another starter in the offseason.
