Nick Scott

I can see him starting the season as the other safety and then Ransom or Richardson taking over after injury.

Re-watching the game now that the all-22 has been posted and Trevon Moehrig looks reeeaaally good. He's sticking to guys in coverage, laying the hammer against the run, and communicating with the rest of the secondary to get them in position.

Nic Scott sucks. Ultimately though, coaches oftentimes play guys who suck but who knows their system and will reliably fill their role even if they're performing their role poorly. They can point to the tape and say "see, it'll work if we upgrade this position". I just wish more coaches realized that their job is to ultimately help the team win, not provide proof of concept of their systems.

Everyone has to justify their job to keep it.  If you can point at a player instead of you, that helps a bit.

Not saying that is what is happening, but if it is, that would make sense.

This!!!!!!!

The first and last sentence. X100!!!!... And idunno y but I always got the hint Evero was that type of guy. Probably for how he handled the Jeremy Chinn situation. Guess it would make that DJ Johnson pick finally make sense to me.

Is he really going to be the starter at safety? Canales seems to like him. Reminds me of when we had Naruki Hakamura started and we all know how that turned out.

Yeh, I still remember that game against the Cons when he let them complete that huge pass…

    • Do you see the vision?  As of now our Carolina Panthers don’t have an identity. We are not an offensive powerhouse and on defense we only started getting it together towards the end of the year last year. In my opinion we are much closer to having an incredible defense that scares the daylights out of people. I say the answer is simple and we fully commit to that possible identity.    Emmanuel McNeil Warren (E man)  This guy is like a shark lurking around ready to attack anyone. Fearless. He is easily a top 20 talent in my eyes, and the only reason he isn’t more talked about is because he’s from Toledo. Do your due diligence as panther fans and watch his tape I beg you. Once you’re done watching let me ask you this, if you dropped E - Man into the strong safety spot on the Buckeyes, he isn’t being talked about as one of the best prospects we’ve seen in some time given the skill set you see with this guy? I think so. Put his name on the card and turn it in at 19.    Jacob Rodriguez  High effort, High energy, High IQ guy that flies around the field. We all know Jacob at this point. My only concern is he’s a little bit too good and I’m not sure he makes it to us at our pick in the second. With the additions of Jacob and E- Man I think our defense goes to top 5 in the league. We would have a duo of linebackers that rival anything we’ve had in our past. I’m not a GM so I don’t know what the possible answer could be, but if there’s a way we can comfortably trade up in the second to secure this guy I think we find a way to do it.    Spend the rest of our picks fixing the O - line.    Thoughts Panthers fans? Who’s the ideal duo for yall?
    • OL is arguably much more important to the success of a young QB. (Or any QB)
    • Didn’t get around to watching this one but looks like Pistons played their starters and actually tried…? Unlucky that they sit vs Magic, etc and try vs us. Hopefully we can beat the Heat and then Magic or 6ers with no Embiid. BUT if not, the NBA really should give us the lottery win this year like they did Mavs last year. Another high pick could be our final missing piece and have us as legit top contenders next year and going forward if we’re healthy. Or trade it for a Giannis type
