Not being able to breath, feeling like you are suffocating is in fact a serious injury especially when you job relys on cardio.   Ive never heard of a mild collapsed lung but it may be a thing I just never heard of it.

we never can catch a damn break

Have had collapsed lung, with severe edema, from car crash. Can confirm, not being able to breathe and blacking out, waking up five days later, is very serious and you think you’re dying.

Canales literally said in his presser a guy with a similar injury played the next week.

It's 3 weeks until Week 1.

Pointless fear mongering

I don't see it as pointless fear mongering.  It's pretty scary.  In the first place it's being genuinely concerned for the health of our rookie who in most years would have been a first round pick.  This is a player with tremendous upside and is just beginning his NFL journey.

I do not understand how we continue to have what appears to be one of the worst medical departments in the NFL.  In our early years Biakabutuka, Beason, Morgan, Otah.  Even in our best period . . . Luke, TD, Cam, Olsen, CMC . . . all of them had careers that were heavily interrupted by injury.  Recently you've got Shaq, DB, JC . . . we just seem to lose important pieces every year.

It's appalling.  I can't think of another team that's had such a tremendous run of injuries to players.  Maybe Detroit last year?  But that's just one year.  We are still a thin team, despite the improvements over the last year.  Two or three key injuries is all that separates us from another 5 win season.  Our curse seems eternal.

Yeah, injuries are just part of the reality of the game of football but dammit, why can't we have nice things? Seems like every time we stumble onto an elite player guess who's gonna get derailed by injuries?

The 49ers and Raiders had more injuries than us last year.

Detroit's injuries last year were absolutely bananas.

Hopefully, you’ll be taking this back next season.

Agreed. Hes supremely talented but that will still mean we used a 2nd on a guy that is halfway into a rookie deal before we get to use him. And then what? A second contract for a rb is typically a bad move. Its just a low probability move all the way around. May work this time, but its not the smart play generally.

If he’s a knockoff Jahmyr Gibbs, I won’t have any problem with it. I’m also thinking his injury history would be significant in contract negotiations.

He’s back at practice and looks like he has a chance to play week 1. Looks like this was not as bad as originally projected

Unless he's 1,000%, just sit him an extra week at this point to let him get his legs back under him.

I want to see him out there as much as the next guy, but this was a serious thing and I'd rather wait an extra week than put him out one day too early and risk something going wrong, play the long game for once.

TBH, I didn’t see a lot of him before we drafted him but heard all of the exciting comparisons.  But then seeing him in the brief time he played again before getting injured with us, I don’t have a ton of hope he’ll ever amount to anything.  Maybe it was a result of the initial injury, but to me, he looked very slow and heavy footed.

    • there is one common denominator in the 2003 & 2015 Carolina Panthers teams they both had ELITE top tier Qb play.  it would require a MVP type of season from Bryce Young to have the same type of success that Jake Delhomme had in  2003 & or Cam Newton in 2015 & lead this team to a SuperBowl is this going to happen or is there any reason to believe Bryce Young is capable of playing similar to Jake Delhomme in 2003 or Cam Newton in 2015 ? well no there is no absolutely NO reason whatsoever to believe that this is going to happen in 2026 ..just saying
    • I'd actually like to see Cherelus get a fair shot to win the job in camp. Wallace is decent in drop zone coverage, but he gets abused in the play action game and is often times out of position in the run game. It might just be me, but I swear every time I watch Wallace play, I see multiple plays a game were it looks like he's just trying to be blocked. Watching Cherelus last year he at least looked like he was trying to hit someone on every play. Wallace plays like a LB who doesn't trust what he sees and it makes him passive and cautious versus Cherelus who regardless of if his decision is right or wrong goes at it 100%.
    • Agreed.  Hasn’t happened to me either, but I feel very strongly about it.  That’s not just one of the worst things a woman could do to a man, it’s a power inherent to only women and is one of the worst things a HUMAN being can do to another.  A man can’t “hide” a pregnancy or maternity.  It’s impossible.  And that sucks for anyone that has to go through that. I always got a weird vibe off her and just found her very unlikeable.  Annoying even.  I’ve always been good at reading people and there was just something about her to me that was off-putting, somewhere under the surface.  And here we are…  she is despicable.
