The benefit of McCord, if he’s close to the other two in ability, is the locked in, cheap contract. 
 

Zappe’s contract expires this year. 
Hooker’s next year. 
McCord costs ~$1mil per year through 2028.

Vikings want the Panthers to eat a small amount of his contract and Thielen to take a paycut down to around 4m that's fully guaranteed.

I really don’t want to take a weapon away from Bryce in a year where we have to know what we have by end of the year. Possibly 5 QBs will go in the top 10 this year. We need to give everything he needs this year to be successful so there isn’t an excuse to fall back on. Only way I would want to trade him even remotely is if it’s for a upgrade at FS.
