Thielen traded

Recommended Posts

So we traded Thielen to move up 1 round in 2027 and then depending how he plays this year, move up 1 or 2 rounds from the 6th or 7th into the 5th in 2026.

What a beyond moronic trade, this makes absolutely no sense, I didn't even want to trade him for a 4th, but I'd have taken a single 5th for him in 2026 over this garbage trade.

Good lord.

Is everyone overlooking that we essentially got a 4th round pick for a guy who was for sure retiring after this season.  Yes, he's our best receiver, but the reality is this team is not poised to do squat this year.  They have to keep loading up on draft picks.  I am assuming Minnesota picked up part of the salary as well, so we could potentially grab a linebacker from somewhere, which we desperately need.

again the 4rth will help but is it worth Bryces development if the other dudes dont step up?

This is about the teams IMO, he could have gone home in Jan.   He is closing out his career on a playoff level team.  Minny is 7th best odds for nfc championship

I mean, the Panthers might have top-15 best odds for the NFC Championship. So it's not all bad.

Let's say you have 1 car.  It has a bunch of miles but it still runs.  Its not worth much but you need a car to get to work, go to the grocery store, etc.  Someone offers you 200 dollars for the car, which is more than anyone else will offer you.  Is that then a deal you would take?

YES when you have 5 newer model cars that you need to put miles on!! Especially when you know that old car is gonna break down SOON!! LOL

Terrible analogy.

more like you’ve got 3 newish cars in the garage and your selling your work truck for a couple grand

Gave him away for free.

For fuggin peanuts. Our only reliable WR last year (well you could say Coker) and veteran leadership amongst the WR group, gone for nothing. None of the moves we ever do makes sense. Is it really worth Bryce's development for draft picks that arent even going to make that team?

I think it's fair to expect him to rage about every snap, possession, quarter, half, game, player, coach, signing, cut, draft pick and trade at this point.

I mean I am not happy about it. But I get the upside. We don’t have to pay him and get a 4th and our young WRs will get featured more. I just think a QB needs the old reliable WR.

The point is that he is far more valuable for the Panthers than he is to almost every other team.  The market price does not reflect his potential production this year for us.

They didn’t offer us $200, they offered more than the car was worth. Plus, we’ve got six other cars in the garage that are newer and faster, and we sold this one so we could focus on driving those.
