Solid Breakdown of Bryce's Poor Performance/PFF Stuff

What I noticed was Tmac running free on deep routes a lot. Can we just get PJ or Hooker to throw go routes on every play for the rest of the season? It would be more exiting than this current mess.

Just seeing a ball go past the line of scrimmage would be a welcome sight. Watching that Bills vs Ravens game was rough for a Panthers fan. Lasers shooting down the field in every direction.

Ty for posting this. People who have been paying attention can see Canales' fingerprints all over Bryce this season. Last season Bryce would be 15 yards deep at the top of his drop. This game he was a consistent 7-10 yards. The big takeaway for me is that DC seems to have simplified the game for Bryce. I noticed that BY9 only operated one half of the field. When the ball is on the outside hash (short side), his game is geared more to the boundary. Multiple patterns and deep outside shots. When the ball is placed on the inside hash (wide side), it's virtually all in-breaking or smoke routes and\or deep shots. Most of his over the middle passes are executed from a deep drop. I really do not think he can see the field. I think DC has tried to mitigate it as best he can, but there simply are physical limitations that cannot be ignored in this league. I do not think he can execute fully, DC's offense. I think DC is frustrated and damn near over the BY9 era.

This is why I wanted Spencer Rattler 😂 sure maybe he isn't that good but he's got a cannon. Honestly? is it crazy to trade for him after this season when the Saints draft a new QB and we have a proper Defense heavy draft?

Watching almost any other NFL QB is painful for Panthers fans. Even if he sucks or is having a bad game you're gonna see flashes of talent that makes you think there might be something to work with there. There's UDFAs forced into action by rashes of injuries that show a higher talent level than Bryce.

If they kept a stat on who made me mutter "what the fug was that" under my breath Bryce Young would be the GOAT at that.

This would be an interesting one.  Jake Delhomme would be a real tough competitor.

I can’t count how many times I yelled….NNNNOOOOOOOoooooo what are you do…..oh I mean, heck yeah.  Nice one 89.  Good job Jake.  89 double or tripled covered downfield seemed to be a good idea after the ball came down lol

I noticed that Renfrow was wide open on a lot of plays also - I think every comeback and wheel route he ran he was wide open (at least 5 yards of separation).

Yeah, expect those opportunities to be gone next week.   Those little wheels he ran were money Sunday and we got nothing out of it.    That would be the first thing if I am AZ I make sure I got a handle on.

I had this game penciled in as a loss already. This could be the last game of the Young experiment if he looks like he did last game. Its just a matter of time before it will implode.

when i see chuba break two tackles on a checkdown and take it for a touchdown, I always thikn "wow, that was a BTT (Big Time Throw)"

Lol it was the 4th quarter in a delay game so I was cooking by then. Until this post I thought it was a running play from where I saw him run until your post. Freaking lol

Spot on - this dude needs to be our actual NFL tape review guru.

The part where he says Bryce is always in a passive stance on pass plays is eye-opening. Bryce is never stepping forward getting ready to throw a dart to someone when in the pocket; he just loosely stands in the pocket then throws off his back foot and lets the ball hang in the air...

He did the same thing at Alabama, why are we surprised he is still doing it?

    • Sometimes its fun to read the threads/posts.  The panthers could literally hire a groundskeeper and we'd have a thread "improving the field for no other reason to prop up Bryce Young".  Apparently no move is ever done to actually make the team better.  All a conspiracy to just focus on Bryce Young. Or suddenly daydreaming and reminiscing about Sam Darnold when he was hated more than Bryce Young.  Its really fun to do a message board search about Darnold during that time period.   Or thinking there is just a tree that grows QB, and you can just easily go up and pluck one.
    • Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
    • Except it takes those QB's a few years to develop because they needed to learn the mental side of the game and have it catch up to their physical attributes. Bryce was supposed to be a QB savant who already had a fully developed mental side of the game and that was going to make up for his lack of physical ability.  And his lack of NFL level QB physical traits has been clear as day to anyone who has watched him the last 3 years, mainly, he just doesn't have an NFL arm, he can't zip the ball into tight spaces or throw on a line down the field like is needed at this level.
