Its hard to run the ball when the opposing D crowds the line of scrimmage every play. Young needs to make them pay with longer passes when they do that but he cant. Young = bad run game.

It's a bit of both. Running game can open up deep passing opportunities but if you can threaten deep, it will keep them from loading up the box.

We aren't particularly good at anything currently. That's part of the problem

Honestly, I think the lack of run game is what's killing the offense and hurting Bryce. If you look at the last few games of last year when Bryce played well, it's because he had a good run game and he thrived off the play action pass. This years run game has been trash and Bryce is struggling because of it.

we have the same OLine and 2 1k rushers from last season. Is the run game bad because teams are stacking the box because there is no fear of Bryce beating them deep?

Multiple people have said AT was actually more of a QB in the field than Bryce is.  He apparently helped diagnose coverage, help make adjustments, etc., so it’s possible his departure is having an effect.

If that is the case, we made a great trade. If we are relying on a WR to help our QB read defensive coverages, yikers...

It sucks, but I think we all have our final info on Bryce - the guy is not a franchise QB

No we don't.

Tmac= Slant boy 25

Renfrow= if 2021 maybe the best for dinkin

Hubbard= found his hands in 25

Dowdle= great Rb hands

Sanders= better catcher than blocker

Horn/Tremay/Tremble/whoever get snaps= more than able to run short quick routes or stand in a spot close to LOS.

Coker= should be able to add to the group

That's plenty my friend along with two RBs with good hands. I know Dave is not Payton and BY isn't Brejesus. This group can pull off a Chinese copy of it tho......

Yes to both plus those 2 OGs are already hurt with on the IR and the other dealing with a foot injury. Not a great combo

I mean I'm not happy with the lack of rushing production either but when exactly are we supposed to establish a formidable run game when we are usually down in the box score early due to Bryce's turnovers and the defense has no fear of our passer pushing the ball downfield?

My last 3 posts have been this- The biggest letdown is OL, the highest paid OL, the one unit with real talent. They have struggle with simple biltzs and stunts, thus BY is under the gun and forced to deal with too many hurries and pressures.

Whole team needs to play better, OL is right at the top along with BY. Now with Mays and zalad......ugh it maybe a upgrade given hunt was playing with bum foot and cobert looked bad too. They need to play better for Hubbard and dowdle too, too many plays Ive seen 4 defenders meeting the RB before the LOS.

This was the risk with spending what $150 million in free agency on two OL? We should have been focused on the draft. Now whether the OL is terrible bad or mid we still have the highest amount of salary cap dedicated to the position group by far. And it's only going to go up when we sign Icky to an extension.

Instead of trading up for injured running backs maybe we should have been drafting OL.

His eye level is probably 5'5" to 5"6 being generous looking at the backs of guys whose shoulders are 5'8 to 5'10. It's a wide wall he can't see through unless there's a lane. Helmets are easier to see around than a 320 lb lineman's shoulders.

So guys in the NFL are bigger than guys in college?

And look at how much we are paying the oline

Or bust WRs. Looks like we finally got one right after drafting 3 busts high the previous 3 years.

If you want to save your job, I offer nearly the only option you have.

RUN A "DINK AND DUNK" OFFENSE.

You have the QB and players to make this somewhat difficult to defend. It would allow you to control the clock at times and make BY look the best he can given his limiting factors. Thousand and thousands of hours of tape to adapt into your "system". and I do not care if its week three, start right meow...

Bonus help- MY GAWD get a better 15 first plays for the game. This is a reflection of your work during the week and your format against that weeks defense. You are total poo at this, do better. Run a ball control passing "Dink and Dunk" you Pollyanna chode.

Dink and dunk cant work all the time.  As soon as the secondary catches on then you are screwed.  It also cancels out the run game.
