NextGen Passing Chart - Week 3

This was not the game to chuck bombs downfield. Falcons can run up points with a quickness, their pass rush looked legit last week and no Hunt. A few sacks and 3 and outs and the game is completely different.

This game was a grinder, beat them physically and maintain long drives where they have to stop Chuba and keep Bijan Robinson/London off the field as much as possible. Bryce’s goal was to get first downs and move the sticks. To go all air raid today would have guaranteed an L.

I’m not really high on Young at this stage of his career but fair is fair. He executed the plan and it was very effective. ATL today was who they’ve always been. Soft. They ran in to a team that punched them in the face from the first snap. Penix heard footsteps all game, didn’t like any of it and it showed. Our team created a lot of film on ATL that opposing teams will greatly appreciate.

I suspect that getting Coker back will be enormous.

It’s a weird year so far with teams playing Big Dime. Bryce is 5.4 YPA (yeah nothing new), Burrow was 5.3, Baker and Nic are 5.5, Hurts is 5.6. Then you have Danny Dimes leading the league at 9.3. I imagine some of these will correct back to normal once the season progresses.

Sadly 5.4 is Bryce’s normal

Most people in this world would be lucky to see a few millions in their lifetime. This kid has already made $40 million. He'll be just fine buddy.

Did you guys even pay attention to how Atlanta was defending the offense? Atlanta didn't lose today because of their defense. They played a lot of zone looks and kept the play in front of them because they knew that no one could beat them deep except tmac, and they pretty much had a corner pressing him and a safety over the top the entire game. As bad as Xavier has been this year, he changes how defenses play us. They knew all we had behind TMac was a bunch of short and intermediate receivers at best.

Bryce took what the defense gave him, and yes there were some plays left on the field. Some of them were misfires by Bryce and some of them were dropped by receivers, and some were 3rd and long situations because of penalties by the offensive line. The offense as a whole is still trying to find its identity. I think you have to look at the full picture here people. And when you don't have the weapons to manipulate the defense, you take what you can. We missed Thielen, Coker, and yes, even XL today.

I would say most of Bryce's throws were catchable at least. He had very few that were just completely off the mark. Add back a couple of those that hit McMillian in the hands and his stat line would have looked more respectable.

Bryce pushes the ball when he has the opportunity. Today Canales called a super conservative game. Not much else was needed

We also don’t really have the WR’s (outside of TMac) to be pushing the ball downfield. Haven’t had anyone since Bryce was drafted sadly

8 completed passes beyond 5 yards. 4 of which were on his first drive.

That's 4 passes beyond 5 yards for the bulk of the game. Mind you we were only up 10-0 for some time before the defense forced turnovers.

This is completely unsustainable.

Trading Thielen is really biting us in terms of production. O-line took major hits. Coker is down. XL is looking completely lost. It's almost like we're trying to replicate 2023 again but it may be even worse because T-Mac, while having more potential, can't be relied on as much.

But when you win 30-0 and you avoid the catastrophes from the first two weeks, you take the W and move on. Besides, QB stat lines leaguewide are kind of getting ugly. There's a few outliers but everything is so dinky dunky nowadays. YPA's are so far away from the days we had constant 50+ point games.
