As painful as it might be, you’ve got to ride it out with Canales (and to a lesser extent Bryce) this year. Every other option is worse. Bryce you can bench but only once you’re sure you’re moving on. Canales you have to give enough rope to hang himself as any talented prospective replacement candidate with options will be concerned about job security.

That said, Canales has done nothing to earn next year. If things continue to go this way, the biggest bargaining chip you’ll have to entice a new coach is that you will get his guy with a high draft pick. If you’re considering keeping Canales another year, you have to weigh that against (once again) sticking a new coach with a QB he didn’t draft  if Canales doesn’t pan out. That also means as CarolinaLivin mentions two different systems in two years for a new qb. That’s repeating the same mistakes.

Evero is a laughingstock and even if Bryce started cooking at this point Canales' gameplan doesn't really give him or us a chance. Why is the short game so damn bland if that's 80% of the playbook? We get it, his arm is limited, but there has to be some sort of path to victory here. Like what are we even trying to do?

At the end of the season sure. A house cleaning is going to be earned by then.

Remove Young from the equation and what have they done? They didn't bring in a younger QB behind Young. Kept guys like Moore and Scott who shouldn't even be on the team. Their biggest offensive signing is on IR. Refusing to play young guys when the starters are ass. 2 years in for DC and 3 for Morgan and there are so many misses everywhere.

I have zero interest in more of this or the 'they earned a right to pick a QB'. Just flush this crap please.

Same. I think Dan will get/take majority of the blame and we cut him loose then promote Eric Eager to GM. Also, I think we cut Evero loose as well. Dave will get one more chance with a FA QB (a la Geno Smith) and new DC.

My Predictions:

Evero likely in latter half of the 2025 season.

Dave canned early in the 2026 season.

Dan canned at the end of the 2026 season.

I can’t believe this many people don’t cut the tv off and go enjoy their day.

On Canales, we’ve seen this play out many times and we all know what is going to happen. Will it change anything, nope, not with Tepper as the owner.

Not really the same mistakes. We brought in Reich and Tepper picked his QB for him.

Nick Scott never needs to touch the field again. Horn made a business decision. Bryce needs to be shipped out. This is pathetic!

Amen to that brother .  Is there any QB we can bring in before the trade deadline ?  Anyone is better than what we have .  Mr Tepper , you made a mistake in Bryce . We all make them . Its what we do to correct it before you lose all the fan base .

Canales needs to hand off play-calling duties ASAP. Only thing that can save him at this point IMO. Let somebody else call the plays, and go coach to save yourself/your system.

He's not Andy Reid or Sean McVay...he can't handle calling plays and being in charge.

Hand it off to who? He hired his homeboy instead of someone that could potentially take over.

And we hired him because he supposedly could be our playcaller and not have to restaff an OC each year.

The last time I heard of our HC having meetings with our owner, the HC got fired. Sad to say that Tepper is still pulling strings and Canales is just his puppet in keeping Bryce out there on the field.
those runs on third and long spoke volumes to me, that he doesn’t have faith or believe in Bryce (Bryce has earned that distrust).

Oh I'm not a fan of Idzik calling plays after the preseason glimpse, but earn your keep. Dave can call one good drive a game...and then shits the bed. I would hope anyone in the building could be capable of the same.

Canales is too nice IMO. I don't think a coach needs to mother fug everybody, but he needs to be capable of it, and sometimes, during the game would be nice. Instead we clap and spout positivity and say we're learning.

Here's the thing. It ain't just Bryce. Sure, he's not going to make it as starting QB in the NFL, but there's a whole team out there. And that's what we saw on display, again.

Those guys, outside of the originally scripted first 10 plays, couldn't do anything. They were unprepared to play, they were badly coached in the moment and reverted to bad efforts in all three phases of the game. It was just bad.

And that's on the coaches. And management.

It's time to go ahead and blow this whole thing up. Let Morgan go first, get a new GM. Then get a new coaching and scouting staff.

As much crap as Fox, Rivera and Hurney got, they were never, ever as embarrassingly bad as we have been for years now. This is the softest team in the league, most poorly built and least capable of finding their cojones.

It's time this was done and over with. Yes, seven coaches in seven years would become eight. Sad as that is, we have no choice but to continue fishing until we suddenly catch something.

Maybe we'll get lucky and Tomlin will be freed at the end of the year and Tepper will back a truck up to the man's bank account and just avalanche the dollars at him until he signs.
