Do you see Canales ever giving this type of speech?

Speeches only go so far as I'm sure Ron will tell you.

True. He backed it up though and proved he could lead a room full of grown men. I’m not sure Canales has that in him, or Bryce for that matter. You have to be able to motivate and lead the team, and I don’t see that trait in either Canales or Bryce.

I get what you're saying but we're in another galaxy beyond inspirational speeches. This is just a snakebit franchise and probably will remain that so long as the Tepper's own the team. Everything they touch turns out bad. And there's no sign of them ceasing their meddling ways.

I never saw it myself. But I'm not around either of them 24/7 so I'm not going to be a reliable witness.

I've heard enough from his former players that Ron behind closed doors was a far different and far more intense person than "stoic Ron" on the sidelines to believe it. Maybe Canales is too but I can't recall hearing much about it.

Sounded like a solid speech.

Our team then proceeded to give up three more touchdowns for a 21-52 drubbing that day.

Just me but I value competence over tough guy talk. Or in Canales's case, fluffy talk.

I prefer results. I care a lot less how they come. Just win. If that means you're chewing ass, fine. If that means you're being a rah rah guy, fine. I don't really care.

    • I don’t know about floor in a team defense sense but we needed more.  The floor that I am familiar with is our QBs floor and it is so low that every other part of the team needs to be beefed up.     We tried our best to improve these things and I think we did improve the defense and we at least kept the offense  from sinking from no LT.  And ostensibly helped the receivers too.   So we kept a window open that we at least have a chance to improve our record by a game of two.  Which would probably give us the division.

    • Yeah. I am one of. those who think a JAG RB can eat with really good blocking. (Brooks is most important in my mind, in tbe passing game and that is what we’ll lose without him)  There are a lot of aspects to this. The big one that caused us to struggle is Young and his arm scared no one.  Best back, best blocking still cannot defeat a really good defense if they are not forced to respect the pass.  And teams did not.    But, a strong OL and running game Can get us over against weaker defenses.  And if Bryce still doesn’t scare anyone we can still win some games. Like last year  So it is really important to tend to that OL.   Get that straight and see if in his fourth year he can finally back defenses off. That is what if is all about this year to me, on the Bryce front.
