He worked out for the Ravens yesterday but they wanted him on the PS Squad and he wanted signed straight to the roster so it fell through.

I understand that. The guy has made plenty of money. It would feel like a slap in the face for a seasoned vet to be offered a PS role and just not be financially worth it. I'd be the same. Either sign me and play me or I'm not interested. Seems a fair ask. If no one's interested, hang 'em up and enjoy retirement.

I think they need to bring Hendon Hooker up from the practice squad. Not saying start now, but they need to get him ready and maybe light a fire under Bryce. Bryce needs to know how thin his margin is right now.

I really, really think Dave is being forced to play Bryce.  He yanked him way earlier last season for this exact same level of play.  I also think the 3rd down run calls were making a point bc he has to play him.

Pretty good chance of this.

I mean he would have to fully have his head up his ass to not see how limited his offense is and yeah that run play on 3rd down was as obvious of a public signal as it gets.

It's honestly crazy how much we have normalized our 4th head coach in 4 years basically being forced to play a QB he had no part in drafting and instead inherited. Yes we did technically hire him to "fix" Bryce Young but wtf was he or anyone else going to do to change Bryce Young's size and lack of physical talent. And Bryce Young won't go anywhere near the weight room now three fuging offseasons in a row but we're trying to set an example for our roster by deactivating WR's and cutting players for performance issues.

Regardless of if Canales pans out as a head coach the structure and process of this franchise is a complete and utter joke and that begins and ends with the Tepper's.

I honestly think they are going to stick with Bryce. It's year 3 for him. He shouldn't need any motivation. He's either got it or he ain't. We are going to ride him to a top 3 pick and send his ass packing

Texans have signed offensive lineman Jarrett Kingston to their active roster from the Panthers practice squad.

I don't understand why we didn't sign him to our active roster. Tons of potential and looked decent in preseason. Could have been a good long term backup for us

Morgan solved the DJ Johnson problem by cutting him. He can cut Bryce and solve that one too.

"Sorry Dave, Bryce is unavailable for Sunday."

IR him like Moore and just take that bad option off the table while keeping him until the offseason.

I'm not sure either would work on both Dave's tho. The hands off talk sure sounds fictional at this point

Yeah, They have to know by now that Dalton would win us more games than Bryce.

    • I know, we’ve talked about it already, but that was mostly before the start of the season, before Bryce came out and Bryce’d it up.  I get it.  The NFL as a collective doesn’t like guys like Deion and Shedeur.  They don’t like self-assured, confident young…  errr… men.  And okay, we get it.  They sent a message by dropping Shedeur to the 5th.  But throughout preseason and training camp, Dillon Gabriel did not look like a backup NFL QB, let alone a starter, and yet, Cleveland kept him above Shedeur on the depth chart.  Shedeur outperformed every QB on their roster by almost every measure and still sits 3rd in their depth chart.  Then today, they announce they have benched Joe Flacco, will start Gabriel, and leave Shedeur as the 3rd stringer. It isn’t unprecedented.  Again, the Cowboys traded for Joe Milton after one season as a late round pick from the previous draft.  Considering the incompatibility of the fit for Shedeur and Cleveland and our, what should now be obvious to any and everyone involved, desperate need to add talent at the QB position…  why not do both sides a solid?
    • Young wasn't drafted by Canales.  Canales shouldn't be held accountable until he can hire his own DC and draft his own QB.
    • Rams, chiefs, eagles, bengals, falcons and Dolphins all have qbs eating up a huge amount of the cap. The saints cap situation shouldn’t be compared to anything and requires like differential equations to figure out.  it’s dishonest at best to compare them head to head. The panthers currently have what is supposed to be the best advantage in the NFL: a high first round qb on their rookie contract. The panthers have thrown huge money at two guards, reupped moton, have (somehow) spent real actual money on the center position, and were even gonna pay Thielen before his wife put her foot down.  To put this another way, what is the defensive equivalent of signing hunt and Lewis? What is the offensive equivalent to letting Shaq, Jackson, Chinn, Luvu walk?
