Completely agree, it’s been weird from the start. Especially the Schefter report about him not playing even if he was healthy. If he was the “guy” he’d play if he was healthy, we were 4-3 and this could have been a huge win to silence the doubters (he wouldn’t have won). That’d be like the bengals having burrow be healthy and they don’t play him (I’m not comparing Bryce to burrow, I just mean QB1 for the team)

Not all QB1's are equal.

I think they held him out because he was not 100%, unable yo take reps with the team and they didn’t realize how terrible Dalton would be

That was crazy. Because Dalton was terrible mostly mentally. Which wasn’t a concern going in. Just how slow and statuesque he might be and maybe the arm was washed. Never a thought about him melting down.

Dalton injured his thumb on the first series vs the Bills reportedly.

Which basically means he most likely injured his throwing hand on the 3rd snap of the game/first called pass.

At this point I don't believe anything that comes out of this teams official channels nor most of what I see.

high ankle sprains generally keep you out for multiple weeks.  Bryce is the oddity, not JJ.

Pretty sure Mahomes in the playoffs a couple years ago didn’t miss a game with a high ankle sprain.

You can look up the original thread and what the doctor said about Bryce’s injury

Why did they go into the game and shaq was still able to call out plays?? Just horse poo coaching there, for the love of gods Dave, its not difficult for grown pros to flip plays and use different code words.....

Eyeball test never aligns with that they say about an “injured” Bryce.   Find a limp or a day where he was off his feet either year.

for whatever reason they shelved him for a week.  Plenty of QBs this season alone have played on grade 1 sprains and looked worse than Bryce.  They are good though

He had a walking boot the day after the game. I’m not a doctor so idk what kind of injury he had and there’s no reason not to play him.

Yeah that’s weird.
People said he wasn’t even limping the next day and in 2023 when this happened people couldn’t find the play he got ‘injured’ on.

They are super precocious about injury these days, it honestly doesn't hurt to wear the boot and it may prevent further injuring certain foot/ankle/toe injuries.

I do think he didn't have the high ankle like reported, this may have not had any swelling either. But for it heal and be practicing in wet environment ......like what is happening?!?!?

He didn’t have one after the injury happened and he was photographed in the tunnel.

The most likely thing is he didn’t actually have a HAS. iirc Canales never confirmed it.

    • The Colts FO have always been a bunch of bitch-made complainers.  The basketball score football we got for a few years before two high safety coverage started shutting down the deep passing game originated with Dungy and Irsay whining to the competition committee about the Patriots manhandling Harrison and Wayne.
    • He didn't make it for the same reason Luke didn't and the same reason Smitty never will unless they change the procedure again. This new rule of needing to get 40 of 50 votes in the final round of voting is just sooooooooooooo dumb At that point it's already down to people who should be in the HOF and all it takes is a handful of split votes to keep more than worthy players out of the HOF in any given year.  So unless there is collusion to among the voters to make sure only 9 or less people are not voting for certain players, we're going to keep seeing this happen every year, and we'll see more than worthy players never end up getting in at all. All it takes is for 20 of the 50 voters to split their vote and it keeps both players out that year.  And when that final vote is by voting for 5 guys out of 7, it's going to happen every year unless they start colluding to make sure certain guys get in when they should.
