coach not playing rico against the bills was thr first time i really questioned if thr panthers needed tl make a coaching change.  even durimg the game the production was obvious.  the coach should have learned to win the panthers need to hide the qb.  run run....run some more when u think u have to pass....run even more

Canales benching Rico is darn near a termination offence. It reeks of him not having the balls to sit Chuba in favor of the hot hand. Can't win being afraid to hurt feelings.

It's worth noting that we started playing something that looked like football after going down 17-0 against the Dolphins.  Up to that point we had rushed the ball 3 times and Bryce had two turnovers.

Then we ran it 5 straight times with Rico and he started cracking off some big gains and led to our first touchdown.  Another 37 yards of rushing later, Bryce goes 1 yard complete, incomplete, incomplete to get that field goal before halftime.  Then we committed big time to the run in the second half and played some really nice complimentary football.  The Panthers had stumbled on a formula, and it started with Rico being crazy productive.  Something they only learned because Chubba was injured and Bryce started that game so poorly they were forced to lean on Rico.

Fast foward to Dallas, they essentially lean into the same game plan against the Cowboys and I think everyone was surprised by how quickly it started to look complimentary.  In my opinion the productive offense really helped the defense as well.  We played quite solid against a top offense.

Finally we make our way to the Jets and Bills, Chubba's return.  You can't say the low scoring affair and return to ineffective football against the Jets was all on Chubba, they were indeed a better defense and so was Buffalo.  But the production difference between the two backs in both games was both visually and statistically obvious.  The bigger picture is the offense took a major step back as well.  They are other moving parts and it's isn't all one thing, BY9>Dalton by a decent margin at this point.

But yeah, Rico's vision and athleticism is just better than Chubba and it jumps at you.

Well said. I just don’t understand how Canales thinks he will gain the respect of your players if you don’t play the best players based on their level of play and contribution.  Everyone is so damn coddled it’s no wonder they fold when punched in the mouth

Rico was the starting back in only two games and still is top 5 in rushing yards. He only had double digit carries in 4 games.

Canales is an idiot

Dowdle would probably be leading rusher or close to it had he been the lead back all season most of those guys in front have more volume of carries.

Makes you wonder how his talent didn't flash in practice seeing how little use he got in the early part of the season.

It's not like it came out of nowhere he rushed for a 1000 yards last season even though just like here he started as backup and didn't get significant carries until the 2nd half of the season, Cowboys were playing an ineffective Zeke in front of him. Not sure why Jerry didnt try to resign him, but they paid for that in the game against us.

Canales seemed determined to repeat the same mistake as Dallas, hopefully he's gotten out of his own way.

This team has lacked identity the past few seasons, especially have been missing that fire starter on offense like he had with Cam, Jonathan Stewart, Steve Smith's of the world. We had that briefly for 2 games hopefully the 2nd half of the season we can get back to that brand of football where teams know what we're doing but can't stop it.
