OFFICIAL Panthers @Packers GameDay Thread

No, because we still looked like crap for the most part today and won because the Packers couldn't stop from stepping on their own dick.

We won, but not sure how anyone can take anything away from today's game other than the W that gives them any confidence moving forward.

The lesson here is that we have had two blah games and have still won. That is a great sign. We would not have won those games the last several years.

Panthers Won.

Your glass is half empty Debbie Downer lol.

We won, the game is over.

Now tell me how squeaking out a win where we looked like crap in most aspects of the game helps us moving forward?

If your only goal is to be in the playoff hunt, then sure, it helps because we won the game.  But I'm actually looking for the team to improve how they play and how the coaching staff operates.

There was only one good thing about how we looked today, and that was Rico, a player who is more likely to be traded in the next 2 days than he is to be on the roster next season.  (and no, I don't think he'll get traded, but I think there is a better chance of that than him being signed to an extension given the interest he's likely to get by other teams).

This is all fools gold unless the only thing you look at is the standings, if you watch the actual game, not sure how you get excited after that game.

Which isn't being a Debbie downer, it's just being a realist and having an unbiased opinion about what you witnessed.

    • The defense is 28 out of 32 in salary cap allocation for 2025. We have a ton of resources tied up in the offense including the highest paid OL in the league multiple 1st round WR's and multiple recent draft picks across the offense at TE and RB and we have two 1000 yard backs. Bryce and company couldn't get past Tyler Shough and his crew in 2 games. That's all there is to it. You can spin it and put the entire onus on the defense to your heart's desire it doesn't change the fact that this is an OFFENSIVE team now. If you want to argue that we should revert back to a defensive identity as we have been in the past which has brought us success then I will agree with you on that. But as it stands the onus is on the offense because that is where we have invested through the nose. Dave Canales and Bryce Young need to do a hell of a lot better than they have against the rebuilding Saints who without us should only have 2 wins this season.
    • Bryce is not trending up. He is the same QB he has always been. Bottom of the league in most categories.  If Canales thinks he can build a contender with Bryce then he is a bigger idiot then I thought.  Offense next year will have the same issues and be just as inconsistent as it was this year.  We have seen Bryce’a ceiling and it is 175 yards a game and that is not a QB you keep around as your starter. That is barely a backup.
    • Looks like Darnold should have had at least 3 picks. That'll get ugly in the playoffs eventually. Can't deny his physical talent though. You either have that or you don't. Mike Macdonald is a legit coach.
