Yeah, some of these new bastards on this board fuging suck cock. It’s not what it used to be. You celebrate the wins and you bitch about the losses. Plain and simple. Who gives a poo how many yards our quarterback threw for!?!?!  but I’ll tell you what our defense fuging showed up. We beat a team that was 5-1. Celebrate that poo! Be happy about that! I’m not naming any names, but people need to quit being whiny ass bitches. Been on this board since 2007 I never seen such bullshit.

When we still miss the playoffs and go into next year with Bryce still as our QB and he still sucks.

People like you are not allowed to complain that he hasn't improved yet in his 4th season in the league.

If you can't objectively look at what you're seeing on the field and acknowledge that we are winning in spite of things like looking like a real NFL team, then you don't get to complain when those problems rear their ugly head and bite us in the ass in the future.

You know it's okay to both celebrate a win while acknowledging the issues you see, but sticking your head in the sand isn't going to help either.

All you ever do is moan after a win. I think you go into every game worrying about us moving further down the draft board.

Just now, Jon Snow said:

They manage to win inspite of the qb on the road in Green Bay, who happen to be the number 1 team in the nfc by the way, and somehow im supposed to be pissed? Nah, I'm going to laugh all week about this one.

I think we all see the bones of this house is getting built strong, but the most important piece still has to be addressed and people trying to dunk on Bryce doubters simply look moronic

Who are you, Brian Kelly?  Believe me, Bust's lack of production will come back and bite us. We should all celebrate the win, but this team needs new QB's in the worst way. That is multiple ones, Bust and Dalton are both unserviceable.

As for today though, let's celebrate.

If anything it exposes Young. If he's not really hurt then he didn't help that much in the win. Thankfully he didn't cause us to lose it. But any non biased fan could see that Young was struggling out there.

100%

However, I don't see today as a game "we won" as much as one "the Packers lost", disagree if you want, but outside of us actually getting the win, I'm not sure how anyone can watch that game today and say we played better than they did.

I see the point you are trying to make, but ultimately, the scoreboard says the Panthers played better than they did. At the end of the day that's what matters.

We easily could have lost it. We did not. That is a win.

Accept it. Progress is being made. Winning pretty and winning ugly, both are still winning.

A losing culture will fail to win the ugly game, it will be an ugly loss.
This isn’t that different than Wilks and Foreman, except today we stole one that we weren’t supposed to win.

So let's say the wind blew that kick wide, which nobody could have faulted any player or coach about given the conditions.

Then we lose in OT.

Would you still say progress was being made?  Or is it SOLELY because of the W when looking at the schedule?

That's not some crazy hypothetical, it's a very fair question to ask, and it's what ALL of my comments right now are based in.

I've actually credited Canales multiple times in recent weeks about him turning the culture of the team around.  But none of that matters if we're not seeing actual on field improvement, as they're just hollow wins that might make some fans feel good in the moment, but they aren't wins that will help us in the future.

And yes, I think this win is VERY different than those Wilks/Foreman lead wins.  Because we looked like competent NFL teams in those wins, something I don't see right now when watching this team.  I see a team that is rightfully giving it to the hot hand at RB, but making countless other mistakes and looking dreadful in the passing game week after week.

Except we are winning games without actually improving on the field.

If you can't see why that is a problem, then I can't help you.

We have a #1 draft pick going out there in his 3rd season and barely able to break 100 yards passing week in and week out.  But sure, let's go all crazy over a win that was more or less given to us by the other team's mistakes.

Forest, trees...you know the analogy.  We can be happy with a win, but not satisfied with the outlook.  Some people can't see beyond the here and now.    What happens if Rico gets hurt?  Oh damn, there goes our entire offense.  How crazy is that?  How crazy is it folks are so narrow-sited that that fail to understand our entire offense flows though a FA RB?

Sure, people can celebrate today. Go for it, have a blast! However when it comes time for this team to call on an actual passing attack and it falls flat, these same folks need to sit on the sidelines because I don't want to hear a peep out of them.

No, I worry about us not improving on the field while Bryce continues to look like a bust week after week.

Period.

Go back and find my posts from before the season, I spent all offseason talking about how I don't care about wins or losses, all I want to see is actual on field improvement this season, particularly from Bryce.

Bryce looks just as bad as ever and I see no on field improvement other than Canales not forcing Hubbard carries today, and that one thing is not good enough to satisfy my desire for seeing improvement.

man, read the room. This stuff flies much better after a night’s rest. You can perfectionist all you want but immediately after we stole one, just is tiresome.

    • The aversion to tying up too much money in the ground game when it’s what’s winning us games is crazy to me. I get letting Rico walk if you think he’s easily replaceable but I don’t see many people arguing that, just applying an arbitrary salary cap based on what we think RBs are currently worth. I’d rather be stuck with Hubbard as an overpaid backup (not the worst one to have, mind you) than lose out on the most productive player on the offense personally.
    • Why do people keep saying things like “it’s not Young’s fault we spent so much to draft him”? Who cares if it’s his fault?  Nobody is saying send him to jail or anything.  People aren’t talking about blame for the decision to draft him, they’re talking about how bad he is as a QB and how we’d be much better with even an average QB.  Pointing out that we sunk a lot of resources into drafting him isn’t invalidated because he didn’t make that decision himself. Doesn’t matter whose fault that was, he’s still not playing like a QB who was drafted at all, much less one that cost two firsts, two seconds and a #1 WR.
