What to do about the Rico situation

You can offer a fair contract, o line is the only position on offense getting super paid, young shouldn’t get the 5th year option and we won’t have to worry about t Mac’s contract for a couple more seasons

and Rico’s vision is insane, just take a look at the 17 yarder he rifled off before we got into fg range

Chuba isn’t washed he’s just getting outshined by a guy on a historical run, that’s just fair play, but just letting good talent walk or trading them away has been horrific for us up until this point

Obviously, he is the better back in both running and recieving. Without him, this offense wouldn't be anything. Even with the Oline decimated, still 130 yards rushing behind JAGs.

I guess Chuba is the odd man out. Have to sign Rico before the sh%t hits the fan and he walks. Trade in the next few weeks before the deadline or not?

What to about a 27 year old RB?

Run him into the ground this season and let him be someone else's problem next year.

yea I mean He sat there and watch Rico do a better job than he can do and had to take a back seat. That in itself is a confidence killer.

I actually think he's rushed back from his injury because Dowdle is doing so well.

Chuba's contract isn't that difficult to get out from under. Honestly, I'd be trying to trade him right now and I'd make him a post-June 1st cut if I couldn't. I'd try to get Rico to sign a three year deal for top 10 RB money. Worst case scenario, the franchise tag for a RB in 2026 is only gonna be about $15M.

Yeah I looked at this yesterday. His contract isn’t that bad. We could probably get a day 2 pick for him or a straight up swap for an edge.

Speaking of which, isn’t a certain team in New York needing a RB, and might have an edge for sell?

“You can get a RB anywhere”. All right, tell that to the Carolina Panthers teams post CMC. They’ve had a few big games from Foreman, now a few from Dowdle and not a goddamn thing in between. Don’t quit your day jobs.

I mean this is kind unfair and down playing the contribution that Chubba has made to this team. For the last couple yrs he actually has been the ONLY consistent offensive weapon.

Must remember Rico is playing for that extension whether it be in Carolina or elsewhere. Teams are looking and wondering what it will take to get him with the way he is performing with the Panthers
