300 yards games will never be typical. He is just not kind of QB.

But neither is 100 per game.  Sunday's game was very windy.  Both Young and Love felt it.

I'm no NFL QB but I can throw a football quite well.  Throwing in a strong wind is very difficult.  The shorter the throws the better chance you have of maintaining the zip on the ball.   The longer the ball is in the air the velocity decrease quite quickly.

Young's throw that was intercepted was the exact route XL scored on in Miami, but it was easily picked off due to the strong wind.

Love should have had two picks against him and both of them died in the wind.  So, while throw bombs is cool you have to take the conditions into account.

Defense and Dowdle is the ticket. One hundred to one fifty yards a game is Youngs ceiling. Let him use his legs in situations where he can get some positive yards. He will never be a gun slinger, throwing darts all over the field.

A "game manager" is obviously his skill set. Taking the throws he can make and not making stupid mistakes is his game. They can win with this formula, they have no choice. Supplement Chuba when needed. This win wasn't luck.

Keep Pounding

Nothing new, Run the ball and stop the run has always been the key in the NFL.

So many on here don't want a game manager.  They want Dan Marino or Dan Fouts to be throwing the ball.  (neither of them won a SB)

Hey Panther fans you guys are a great fanbase. I will definitely pull for you guys to win your division. At least we got beat by a classy team Sunday.

Thank you, and I will be pulling for you Cheeseheads in your division.

So it’s come down to this: To make our ‘super processor’ successful, we need a run heavy offense to keep the ball out of his hands and minimize turnovers, along with a stout defense that keeps the other teams offense off the field and make it a low scoring game.  Sweet.

Welcome back, ‘Fox ball’.

That is correct, and we all know it, but as long as the team is winning, however that may be, Dave would be insane to pull Bryce unless Bryce goes full meltdown.

This isn’t really Fox ball. People forget that Jake was the prototype gun slinger and had one of the stronger arms in the league pre injury. He was never a dink and dunk guy.

FWIW, Fox ball was good ball, and it won us a lot of games before Tommy Jon took Jake out for good. It was a good era that ended way too soon.
