Unsustainable

due to his shitty play the franchise is backed into a corner with just a few reasonable options

I'm not sure we're backed into a corner with Bryce.  The trade to pick him up is spent and over.  Not worth trying the mental gymnastics to get any of that value back.

He plays until we find a better option OR he finally "gets" it.  If he wants to sit out instead of playing on the 5th you trade or you cut him.  It requires a hard line in the sand.  You either believe 100% in Bryce or you wish him well in his next endeavor.

This year was Bryce's put up or shut up year.  While we're at a 5-4 record which is fantastic for a change, his play hasn't looked like a $50 million a year guy.  That's just the reality.  He can claim it all he wants, but ultimately the market will bear out his contract demands.

Maybe I'm tired of opening a thread and its the same poo over and over. And its pretty clear that some of the posters here are actively hoping the Panthers lose because they distaste Bryce so much, even at 5-4. It's literally a worst case scenario every week if the Panthers win, and that gets super tiring very quick.

And I like you try to manifest that I am a "Bryce Lover". I've said over and over since Week 1 that he isn't it and begun looking at draft prospects (who all mostly suck and won't be any better than Bryce)

Some will be much better than Bryce. It isn't that hard.

Pretty sure most of us understand that.  However, running the ball and playing good defense IS sustainable.  We’re not winning a ring this year so let’s just see how many people we can make angry along the way.

Thank you. I’m so sick of hearing people say you can’t win by running the ball well, playing great defense and with a ball control mindset. There have been so many teams win with that formula. poo the best year as a franchise we did exactly that. And the more successful we are doing that the more it opens up the pass game.

cam Averaged 1 passing TD and 1 int with somewhere in the 200s yds passing per game throughout his tenure. His TD total rushing was about one per game as well plus that yardage. He was very talented at throwing but we didn’t beat people with his arm. We beat them to a pulp in the run game and with an aggressive defense.

this whole idea that you gotta throw for 3 tds and 300+ yards per game to be successful is crazy. That fails every time you face a good pass rush, bad weather or injury. A good run game can play through all that

There are seven anti-Bryce Young threads on just the first page of this forum. Not sure we needed an eighth, but hell at this point I’m thinking this place will have 0 visitors, 0 posts and 0 activity the moment he’s cut/traded.

A lot of people will come back, actually.

Falcons game? He is capable of it when he is asked to. We haven’t really needed him to this year so people believe he is horrible because of his low volume stat lines.

Cool, 1 game out of 38. That's not going to cut it. More often than not, if our defense or running game has a bad day, it's an automatic L.

You can absolutely win that way. The caveat being, where do you invest your resources? Do you spend heavily on an offensive line and skill positions and less on a game manager QB,  or spend heavily on a QB, less on a line and skill positions and rely more on the QB? You can't really do both with the cap unless you get a QB on a rookie cap that's MVP like. We just need to pick a direction. Right now we have 2 elite tackle contracts including Icky, 2 elite guards, a top 15 RB contract and a possible top 5 QB contract on the horizon if Tepper decides to go that route. There's only so much cap space to go around. Something is going to have to give.

No the sad thing is it’s very sustainable. It just is very very boring football. Our defense isn’t great but it’s good enough to keep up in games. We can run the ball on anyone which gives us a chance every game as long as we don’t commit turnovers.

I remember us basically using the exact same gameplan when Wilkes took over. PJ Walker and Sam Darnold at QB, just running the ball down teams throats.
