at this point Bryce is Brenton Bersin and anyone that isn't ready to move on is Jerry Richardson.   Dude is not a NFL starting QB.  We can keep playing as one but it doesn't change the fact he doesn't belong.

and yeah, Bersin could make a catch every now and then too.

I liked Bersin. If it hit his hands, he caught it. And he'd go across the middle for a hospital ball fearlessly. But you knew exactly what he was and what to expect. He wasn't Calvin Johnson and was never going to be.

Bryce, we're 3 years in and it's week to week, quarter to quarter, drive to drive which version you're getting. There's no way to coach or design an offense around that.

I hope the Panthers are making note of this. The good version of Tua was always the rosiest picture of what Bryce might be able to be in the NFL. Tua reached a much higher ceiling in the NFL than Bryce has been able to achieve thus far but he's a poster child for the risks of hitching your salary cap wagon to a seriously physically limited QB.

Are you kidding? They just now figured out they could use someone else for a qb sneak.

Take a page from Shitsburghs playbook. Where Rogers holds his balls to keep them warm and watches...

I gotta be honest.... reading listening to anything on Tua now just makes me think about bryce and how we are heading down the same road. Remember, the biggest bryce supporters said at one point that bryces ceiling was a high level Tua because Tua had one good year.

Bryce has pretty clearly improved this year. He's taking more shots downfield and showing better accuracy on those throws and as a result we have had more of a downfield element to our offense during the second half of the season. It's still not enough of a deep passing threat, but we're trending in the right direction.

I'm all for bringing in someone to push Bryce that can also be a capable backup (Dalton looks done and I wouldn't be surprised if he retires after the season) but it's pretty clear that Bryce will be the starter going into next season and I do think there's a good chance he continues to improve.

I'd be all for drafting his replacement if we were 1) in position to do so without trading a ton to move up, and 2) there's a QB worth taking in the 1st round, but neither of those things are going to be true for us this upcoming draft.

Only the Saints (LOL), Browns, Titans and Raiders average less points per game than us. We are behind the JETS in avg PPG and a lot of other teams with HORRIBLE records. I'm saying again we are very lucky not to be a 2-4 win team right now. We have big, big problems to address (the same ones we've had for years!).

Do we want to build a possession based team that always tries to keep it low scoring? I just don't know what we WANT to be and what we are kind of forced to be at the moment.

Barring injury or Canales sacrificing him after an Old Testament style hallucination Bryce is going to start 16 games this year.

to say nothing of his average performance, in at least four games (jags, first saints, 49ers, patriots) Bryce played so badly you didn’t have a chance to win at all. I’d throw the cardinals game in there too but I don’t want to rehash that argument.

25% of his starts you don’t stand a fuging chance. There isn’t another position on the team where someone could perform that badly and still have a job.

Last season it was the same even though he was benched for a third of it. First saints, chargers, <bryce “renaissance”> cowboys, second Bucs. He plays so poorly you don’t have a chance.

lets not even mention his rookie season.

How many games a year is it accetable for a team to not have a chance heading in because of qb play?

I agree with you

they have a game manager at Qb.

They have a game manger in Evero.

They have a head coach who is a game manager as OC because he has a game manager at qb

even Canales cute, little  mantra of ‘do right longer’ goes to game management

hard to win games depending on other teams making mistakes and your team making none as a winning strategy

The nfl isnt like that   It is the unexpected and adjusting successfully to the unexpected

young played well for young. but in the NFL that is not enough and everything has to be perfect   Nothing is perfect in a nfl game

Young also continues with horrible footwork and that causes many of his issues. Year 3, still there

i dont know where this team is going but i feel the Canales snd Young path is not going to get this team back to a higher path.

Losing twice to the Saints is egregious

Canales has not  been that successful against Bowles either and evero cant stop Mike Evans to save his very  soul
it will be interesting sunday

They have boxed themselves into this position

i dont see them   unboxing  until 2027

you remember Kellen Moore interviewed for head coach here …he took a qb that people laughed at this year. No one is laughing now

i dont know that i trust Morgan or Canales to do the same.

This is actually not true. Reference the following stats from NFL NGS for 20+ yard throws.

2023: 9 of 38 for 312 Yds, 0 TD, 0 INT. 61.29 QB Rating. 2.375 20+ attempts per Game.

2024: 16 of 43 for 493 Yds, 5 TD, 2 INT. 100.24 QB Rating. 3.58 20+ attempts per Game.

2025: 13 of 30 for 397 Yds, 6 TD, 3 INT. 90.28 QB Rating. 2.30 20+ attempt per Game.

He is actually at career lows on shots downfield(20+ yards) per game. He has been less productive in that regard than in 2024, even with 1 less game played(so far).
