Would you trade Derrick Brown to get a top QB prospect?

It’s clear as we can all see, and hopefully the franchise can see, that Bryce Young is never going to be able to be a winning NFL QB. The Panthers have won in spite of his god awful QB play. For every miracle fourth down conversion he makes, he made 10 awful plays to get the Panthers into a position where they needed a miracle to begin with.

So to my point, would you trade the Panthers best defensive player to get a big time QB prospect? Obviously the 2026 draft is looking weak so maybe it’ll be in 2027. But the Panthers might have to give up something to be able to move up and move on from Bryce.

I think past drafts have shown that there are no "sure things" at the QB position in terms of the college draft. It's always a gamble. The Panthers are living proof of that. So, it's risky trading away a solid player like Brown for an unproven rookie.

That said, if you had the gift of prophecy and knew for sure that the guy you were drafting via the trade was going to pan out, then I wouldn't think twice about making that deal. I'd gladly give up a top run defender for a legitimate starting QB. Brown has been with us since 2020 and we've never had a winning season with him despite his Pro Bowl level play at times.

Going into this game, I though the Saints were possibly the only team in the NFC with a worse QB situation than ours. Already, it appears that their rookie QB is a more of threat on the field than our 3rd year starter.

No. Stop trading away talent and continue to build the team. Look at all the talented people we have traded away over the last 5 years and tell me which one worked out for us. There is a reason Daniel Jones, Baker, Darnold etc can go to other teams and succeed. They have talented players around them, and we have a very small amount of players on our team that are core guys. Brown is one of them
