Bryce Young every time I give up on him

I'm not sold on Bryce, but I have to give him his props for yesterdays gutty performance.

As to why he plays well against the Falcons (at least on the road for the past 2 years), I wonder if it has something to do with the environment. The Falcons play indoors so he doesn't have to deal with any inclement weather which always benefits a QB with mediocre/subpar arm strength. When he played them in Charlotte earlier this year the highest temperature was 87F (average temp of 76F)

Why would there be training wheels on a 3rd year player?

Facts....I dont know where folks are getting this stuff from. If anything Canales dials it back because Bryce starts throwing interceptions when he puts to much on his plate. Why would he not? Turnovers effect winning games. Bryce has a tendency to do too much of that at times. Its all in bryces head. You either get confident Bryce or timid mistake making Bryce.

The Atlanta FO / fanbase must be pulling their hair out.

He's awful against everyone but them. It's actually quite amusing.

Its hilarious. I mean they gotta fire somebody after that. To let him come in and do that a second time back to back years is humiliating.

Echoing the things many others have said, what I wanted to see what an "answer" to the QB question coming into this season and with the 5th year option looming this offseason.

That was an insane game by Bryce, literally what we had all hoped to get from him when we traded up to get him. Kudos to him for that performance, it literally was franchise history.

But....this has to keep happening. Not franchise history but good games. You can't have 1-3 of these each season. That's not a franchise QB, that's Ryan Fitzpatrick.

We have the toughest stretch of our entire season coming up, it's going to basically be put up or shut up time for Bryce. He's probably playing for his Panthers future.

He's playing for his Panthers future and the team's success this year. We are still, insanely, in the hunt for the division.

One great game won't open up running lanes. SF will force him to do it again.

Yesterday was a fun watch. If he can keep pulling off performances even close to that, I'll be happy. It only gets harder from here.

Yeah, hopefully the confidence keeps rising like we saw at the end of last year.

Again, as others have said, one thing that can't continue is to piss away half a season before it starts clicking. I really don't care how good he can be in second halves of the season if he just can never get off the ground in the first halves of every season.

When you see games like yesterday, it makes you even more frustrated that we can't get this more often. Frankly, it's so rare that it's absurd.

It is absurd, and frustrating. He's very young and I think that plays into some of it. The dome helps. And of course he does seem to have another gear he can turn on at moments.

I don't understand why he doesn't always play with focus and intensity that allows him to make up for physical deficiencies. Like you said, we can't wait half seasons for decent play.

You have to give a lot of credit to the opponent too. They really gave him all the opportunities in the world for a very highly ranked(or formerly) passing defense.

On paper, their gameplan should have worked as it largely mirrored what New Orleans did and they have a substantially stronger pass defense than the Saints.

I'm pulling for him, but I am not going to get sucked in again as our future QB.  I want him to continue to get better, but he has to show that it's not once or twice a season he has a stellar game.  Atlanta is a mess and we seem to have their number.

Last year we went toe to toe with KC and Philly but ended up losing.  We have the Seahawks, 9ers and Rams coming up.  We have to win at least one of those games to consider ourselves turning the corner. Not to mention we have to beat TBx2 and NO.

Show me a couple of good wins and we'll go from there.

    • Dude, I think I might be having Jarvy withdrawals... I ripped the sleeves off of all of my t-shirts in my sleep last night. Every bite of my Alpha-Bita cereal spelled Seth, this morning. And, I took 7 naps before lunch. I'm losing it guys! Jarvy's Jaunty Band of Jaggoffs are getting more play than he is... smh Team Canada doesn't treasure Jarvis the way he deserves. He should take his band down to Liechtenstein, get a bag of passports, and start his own Olympic team! The raw animal magnetism of Jarvilicious will bring in a handful of NHLers on its own. And, since the IOC believes in collective punishment, he could have his pick of the rookies. Then, just fill out the rest of the roster with the maple blooded great white northerners who couldn't make the top squad. Can't trust this assembled awesomery to just any old Liechtensteinien with a clipboard and a whistle. Gotta bring in a legend worthy of this gold medal gambit. A hockey HOFer with the balls to buck the system and the aura to match our maverick. Huere geil, Vaduz!!! 2030 Gold Medal guaranteed!
    • Tennessee isn't trading a QB on a 2nd round contract that has starting experience.  That's bad business.
    • OT is the top priority as it is both an immediate and future need.  I wouldn't be past trading up slightly to get the guy we want.  You need that rookie contract right now.  Icky is a dead 17.5 million for the season.  Morton is 20+ mil for the season, Hunt is 20+ mil for the season.  There needs to be forward thinking regarding the future.   Caleb Lomu is a left Tackle, he's a solid prospect, he may be the best pick for us now and in the future.  I would seriously consider cutting Hunt after 2026, and let Lomu and Icky fight for the LT job, loser moves inside.  Icky's future may be at guard after this injury anyway.  If Damien Lewis keeps up his level of play he will need to be paid sooner rather than later.  Yosh and BC can be our top two depth OL at an affordable price.  You will need to look at OT again in 2027. Getting an EDGE for the sake of getting an EDGE outside of the top 10 is pretty risky.  I wouldn't be against eyeing someone like Cashius Howell, Derrick Moore, or TJ Parker in the 2nd (even if we trade a future pick to move up) or DDS in the third. I'd love to see us try to sign both Leo Chenal and Matt Millano in FA.   Chenal for the blitzing element we are missing from our LB corps and Millano for his elite coverage.  They could both work in tandem.  Remember, our FO has deep ties to both KC and Buffalo. I love thinking about the draft, but until Free Agency hits, we are clueless.  Looking at the strength of FA and the draft, OL is priority #1, LB #2, and EDGE #3.  We know what happens to Bryce when protection falls apart.
