I agree... the improvements we saw at the end of last year just has not materialized this year. I wondered the same thing. Is Bryce REALLY putting in the work in the off-season and during the season to be the best QB1 he can be? There seems to be a competitive fire that is missing with Bryce. I've been rooting for the kid, I really have. But yeah, there's a point where you just have to be honest about it. In Houston, they're not asking this question, right?

I don't see it being tolerated in Houston

I really think a lot of what people took from last season was kind of what they wanted to take, but I am not sure it was justified.

There is a relativity thing in play. Said it before last year started too, 2024. And it is, simplified, that he was so bad that he could be twice as good and still be below average. Very general estimates there but the point is he had a long way to go to be good vs NFL standards.

I think he was better but not there. People saw it relative to how bad he had been and blew it up to something it wasn’t. I mean yes he was much better, but better than what?

He needed to show improvement this season over his ‘resurgence’ to finish 2024. That is proving to be difficult for him. He has topped out. His ceilings are okay to good, and when he plays Atlanta, very good. But his floor is still really low.

I don’t think that is changing this year if it didn’t against the Saints and on Monday. I am okay with pulling the plug and really don’t feel the need to watch him play out the string.

I guess he has 5 games to flip that.

Just saying, we could have chosen CJ. I think Frank Reich wanted CJ but Tepper wanted Bryce. Nonetheless, Houston not talking about the 5th year option with him... or am I mistaken?

There is a feeling amongst Colts fans that Daniel Jones will not resign with them because he knows it’s his opportunity to make bank and they won’t pay it.

I think Mac Jones will be off limits because he will replace Purdy eventually (now or later) and he’s under contract.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Jacksonville moved on from Lawrence, probably not this season but he’s getting a lot of blame for stuff that’s not his fault down there.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Rattler set free. He actually didn’t do horrible this season.

Cooper Rush is just sitting up there for the Ravens. Did fine with Dallas but he’s severely out of system with them and probably why he had trouble when he started.

I would keep an eye on Davis Mills. I think he will be our QB next season. Hes the better version of the QBs Dan and Dave keep signing to the practice squad and doing a nice job in Houston. He is going to start and his neck is going to be the back up.

Mills got extended through next year, and with Stroud dealing with a concussion for multiple weeks I don't see why they'd just give him away in the offseason

After 3 years of a QB room with only one egg in the basket, it's time for a different approach. 1. Trade Bryce to anyone for anything especially if they take on his salary, 2, Cut Dalton, should have never signed him to begin with. 3. For what or just a little more salary cap saved on BY. sign two of the FA  "reclaim projects", Sam, Trey, or other. Tell both they will fight it out for the starting spot & have 3-4 months before TC to get ready. 4. Draft a QB on day 3, plan for him to sit and learn for a year at least. He may not turn into a starter but backup spot has turned into a dire need around the league. There are some interesting QBs from lesser known programs that will be available, some as UDFAs. 5. If Bryce is untradable, take our medicine and cut him anyway.

    • Putting the game in his hands again vs doing the run first approach still makes me think they are both have not given up the dream. Just like brining back Dalton and avoiding anything that could come close to competition did.  If they had given up on that dream I wouldn't be so agaisnt them both but they did what they did and as far as I can tell thst train is still on the tracks to nowhere.
    • Next years QB room needs to be a shotgun blast Reclamation project (Lance is my choice) + vet (Geno or Mariota) + draft pick. Let them duke it out all year
    • It is crazy but they obviously still want it. It's why they were hired and it's what this entire build is about. The fact they had the Falcons game and then went out and put it in his hands once again vs running the damn ball and trying to squeeze another win out proves it again. I don't like it but that's what this is no matter how hard fans twist details into some kind of sanity.  I have been against this from before the pick and would love to end it this year just like the two years before. Im just not going to lie to myself about it. There is zero real signs that Tepper is off of the Bryce train either...even if there should be by now. I hope we are right and the remander of the schedule doesn't play with their food like GB did. Otherwise next year is going to look a lot like this year but the odds they pick up thst 5th are bad that they make the right or good choice. They obviously want it and I just don't see 2 yes men walking Tepper off of his mistake without a deflated end to this season. Any bright spot for them to get twisted will result in more of the same IMO. I will belive it when they say they aren't picking him up otherwise Im just expecting it unfortunately
