Getting beat over the top repeatedly for deep TDs due to lack of talent is preferable?

It happens anyway doesn’t it  particularly when your best corner isn’t on their best receiver

let your team play

in case you didn’t notice, too, they are running on those long yardages on purpose…they made one…and almost make the other

You have to at least try to threaten the whole field if the short stuff is not working.

This is why some of us point out number of attempts and why they matter on deeper passes...

But whatever. We have to try to stretch the field at some point

canales shitting the bed

He hasn't done anything but let Bryce control the audibles and use the running game. Poor communication at the line and Bryce making the wrong hot reads has been the issues.

We will see what happens if Bryce fails to lead a running attack with control to audible out. Then Canales will have to open up the playbook. We're not down 2 scores yet, so he'll let Bryce keep failing until he proves he can't succeed to manage the game early

    • Outside of both having very good straight line speed, I don't see much in common. Chark was mostly a play action Chuck it deep type of receiver. Brazzell, while raw with route running, is fully capable of running most routes. He is way better at using his body to shield defenders from the ball than chark and does a better job attacking the ball and creating a wide catch radius. Agree Brazzell will need to prove he can beat the press and I imagine he will see a lot of it when he is on the field. I still think he has quite a bit of development to go through (particularly with his route running, press beat techniques, and reading zone coverage), so I don't expect to see him on the field much this year (barring injuries)
    • Probably closer to a PK. Can't see -2.5 for us
    • I will be shocked if proctor makes it as a tackle. He is way too slow moving laterally and seems to have zilcho burst when the ball is snapped. Guy can easily be a dominant IOL though
