The patriots smoked us and Bryce earlier this year. Their OL (this season) was twice as bad as ours. Mike Tirico said Herbert was the most pressured and sacked qb in the league. @frankwsaid he was sacked 66 times while Bryce was roughly half of that, imagine Bryce getting sacked twice as much, no way they win that game with Bryce at qb.

Sorry but if you watched us all season and watched that game last night there were at minimum 3 clear sacks Herbert took that Bryce gets out of. Seen him do it over and over and over again this year so I’m comfortable saying he takes at minimum 3 less sacks. That game just played perfect to Bryce’s strength which is extending a play and keeping eyes downfield or scrambling for a little 8 yard gain when you need it.

that was 100% a Bryce game, defense played out of their mind, only need 17 points, extend 3-5 times and get a few critical first downs.

Sorry I watched every Panther game this season and watched last night, Bryce wasn’t beating the pats.

lol okay

Bryce put up similar numbers as Herbert against the pats. That’s with our better run game and OL, put him in a worse situation (chargers last night) and he’s toast. If you don’t have anything else to say besides lol ok like a child, kick rocks.

I was hugely impressed by his playoff performance and I hope he can come out and play every game with that level next season.

But I'm skeptical of that, heh.

Regardless of that, it's just ridiculous to try to compare him this year to Cam in his first 3 seasons (or ever).

Agreed.

What is your problem? I outlined why I feel my position and your response was Bryce wouldn’t do it with no context or rebuttal to what i said. So yeah I ended the conversation then you added your talking points after. Grow up dude outta here with that bs

Daniel Jones or Malik Willis would be my preferred options. But we will have the Red Cap Gun one more season.

I'm not looking at any of those as a good choice. Willis is a pass and Jones will probably get a contract offer in Indy (and should).

Now, work out a trade for Mac Jones and I might be intrigued. The two best QB factories right now are SF and LARams. Grab someone from their benches and you get a quality guy from a prior high draft that might be reaching their potential. Everything else is a crap shoot at best.

I don’t care about all that. He was a rookie playing with way less talent than Bryce and had more yards. Had a coach get fired and still hit 3k before Bryce, he also missed 3/4 of the last game as well. I would imagine Bryce with that roster would be worse than this year. I’ve said he’s improved this year. That’s still not saying much and in no way should he be extended. None of this matters anyway, we all know he’s starting for the next couple of years.

I'm not sure I would be bragging about all the talent Young had to start the season with given it was Legette, Tremayne and Renfrow. Yes he did have TMac but he was a rookie with zero NFL experience. Combined, he and XL had a 54% catch rate for the first half of the season. I will agree though, that once Coker got back and TMac got some experience, the talent was better.

I think the better comparison would be between their rookie seasons as they sound like very similar situations: fired coach, lack of talent, etc.

Yeah this is nuts.

For comparison in Bryce's rookie season our OL gave up 65 sacks.

We all know that was one of the worst rookie seasons for a QB in decades. We know what Bryce looks like under duress and it is anything but pretty.

In contrast Herbert with 66 sacks on the season had a year roughly in line with Bryce's best in 2025. And he had a significantly better completion percentage.

There's no need for these irrational cope takes about Bryce producing on the Chargers. Reality says they would have been lucky to win 1 or 2 games with Bryce. Jim Harbaugh probably would have lost his mind.

People still not understanding the Panthers went extremely hard to build a situation where bryce could be successful and even that was pretty mediocre succes this year. If the division wasn't so bad, bucs wasn't so banged up or cons decided to play kirk cousins earlier...who knows....we're probably sitting at home already. Thats how close this season was to being the equivalent of the last 2 years.

After almost a decade of the Panthers having little hope to be a competitive football team we made the playoffs and come so close to beating one of the top teams in the NFL after we'd already beaten them a few weeks earlier.

The fan response:

Cut Bryce
Fire Evero
Maybe fire Canales.

In the famous words of Westbrook, "Ya'll trippin".

    • agree to disagree you are entitled to that opinion even though I find the argument completely bizarre based on data. I could type out a long paragraph discussing those areas but what’s the point. I posted a screenshot that showed Bryce in a similar post snap situation with a free rusher in his face which resulted in a TD - that’s what happened on the play so I posted it.
    • I've already addressed this notion in a previous reply. You are basing your assertion outside reality if you think Bryce would have not only been more successful but defeated the Patriots in place of Herbert. Bryce got blown off the field by that Patriots team with the highest paid OL in the league. We've seen Bryce with an OL that gave up 65 sacks and it resulted in the #1 pick. And that is not a defense of Herbert or arguing he is a great QB in any way. He has physical talent but he has been similar to Darnold early in his career in terms of his very up and down perfomances. However that does not change the fact that they have significantly less invested in the OL than the Panthers.
    • I think Tepper has been setting the stage where pending there is no miracle he wipes it all clean.  Think you already have been told that with small things like Evero staying.  Bryce is the guy next year.  OC, DC, everything stays the same.  QB room largely the same.  Nothing would really matter there.  They basically get one more shot and it goes how the schedule paired with our 27th ranked O predictably most likely goes.  Everyone out the door together.  Bryce is a bridge tier QB.  I don’t see Dave surviving where he could be bridge QB here in reality.
