I don't agree with that whatsoever.  You put 31 points on the board you should win the game.  Defense is what lost that game yesterday, not because Bryce didn't drive us to a game tying field goal with 32 seconds on the clock.  Also considering two of the passes he threw should have been caught.

Defense is the reason we were in that game up until going prevent on the last drive. 2 4th down failures, one gave them a short field that they scored on quickly. One of the best WRs in football, Adams who ain't exactly half bad himself, and a TE with 9 TD carches on the season. Horn gets concussed. If it wasn't for a blocked punt and short field, we wouldn't have been up to lose the lead to begin with.

Sometimes you need more than 31. You can't lay everything at the defenses feet, especially when that defense has overachieved given what they had to work with. Putting the game on their shoulders in the biggest moments is what franchise QBs do.

Stafford got the Rams down the field quickly to retake the lead. Freaking Bryce couldn’t even gain a yard on his final drive.

To be fair Stafford had all night to throw and the Panthers' OL was getting blown up when they'd only rush 3 or 4. Plus his last pass was in stride and dropped but hell, if you're really blaming the QB because the defense gave up a TD with 38 seconds left, you're not having a terribly serious argument in the first place. Bryce is alright. He's not the one glaring weakness on a Super Bowl-caliber roster (the dude who said that is one brain short of needing a brain transplant), and there are some other needs to be filled first, but competition would be beneficial. Pick up the fifth, wipe the tears and see what happens.

From my vantage point last night (outside of the INT) there were 2 missed opportunities from him. On one of the 4th downs, when he rolled out towards the sideline he had McMillian wide open but he was staring somebody else down the whole time.

If the throw to Chuba on the swing pass would have been a little more on target and he brought it in, there was nobody and I mean NOBODY on that side of the field. He could have took it 40 yards minimum if not all the way. little things like the above haunt him quite often

When Bryce is aggressive, he plays well. But when he gets stuck in that super conservative mode, he is just horrible.

defense i feel actually played well after they settled in.  offense put them in alot of very tough spots.  int , fumbl, 3 fourth down failures all very short fields at least a 14 point swing.

If you want to get into specifics the defense is lucky Puka dropped a wide open TD and Stafford missed a wide open Adams for a 40+ yard gain. They also dropped a int that led to a rams score.

I get analytics, I get that a td would have buried us, but holy fug like Parcells used to say "take the damn points".  The Rams trying to convert a 4rth and 3 instead of kicking a fg to go up 20 to 7 was a insanely stupid call IMO.  That had us on the ropes and then we drive and make it 17-14 going into half.

ALWAYS TAKE THE DAMN POINTS especially in a playoff game.  I was wanting to win just to rub that back in their stupid faces.  Trying to show us up was stupid and costly

If you have Mac Jones, Bryce Young, and Tua Tagovailoa in the QB room, who starts?

This will give me a better gauge on the Alabama skew. I am going with Mac Jones, but looking for his replacement. None of them get to sit around without any QB competition. I don't see any of them winning in the playoffs consistently.

It's so funny...the 'only if' crowd.  They lament the missed opportunities/mistakes we make, but ignore the fact the other team had missed opportunities as well.  As you pointed out, the Rams didn't play a prefect game and had their share of bugled opportunities too.  It works both ways.

There’s always a ton of recency bias with BY. Homers with the memory of a goldfish only remember his recent good game and say he’s finally turned the corner. This has happens so many times now I can’t keep count. Then when young comes out and plays like ass for multiple games in a row it’s everybody else’s fault. You can’t win in the NFL consistently with such an inconsistent QB.

Bryce played a great game last night

the problem was that was an A game from him and a C game from Stafford and Stafford was still the better QB. Thats why the Rams are a favorite to win the whole thing and our season is over

Yep, pretty much. Most of Bryce's good games are relatively disappointing games from actually good QBs.

I mean, we're all pretty happy that Bryce went 21/40 for 265 a TD and a pick. That's not a good game by good QB standards but it's a pleasantly surprising game for Bryce.

The failed 4th down play early in the game was a terrible call by Canales.

He took us down and scored the go-ahead TD with 2 plus minutes on the clock.  The pass to Coker was pinpoint and an amazing pass.

I never said the defense didn't play well but, you can't expect Young to deliver every time.  He had 32 seconds starting with a false start so we're already behind the eight ball. The biggest key our defense not stopping them was JC Horn out of the lineup.

While I agree we could provide some serious competition at the QB position.  I am not going to sit here and make the loss all about Bryce Young.  You can hang your hat on it all you want but he wasn't the reason we didn't win the game.

The interception was on Coker if you ask me.  I feel he hesitated a bit on the route.  The fourth down failures are just as much on Canales as Young.
