I personally don't believe Tepper has changed that much. The only thing new is his stepping back from the public eyes as much as he can. I guess you could add exhibiting a bit my restraint or should I say patience with this crew. But that will only last so l9ng as a leopard don't change his spots. He will fire everyone if they only win 5 games next season.

The positive side is that we likely have between 10-15 years more of Tepper at max. This will eventually end. Who knows what that chapter will entail?

His wife will take over, if she hasn't already.

Ive never seen a qb with his kind of arm talent willfully seek out out not just contact, but head first contact. Like baker will seek out DBs to put his shoulder into. Dart dives like a tackling defender in NFL blitz 98.

He had good coaches in his college career, and Mike Kafka is not a dumb guy. Surely there have been attempts to get him to stop and he’s always just like “yolo bitch”

Dart and Skattabo together will be both of their downfalls. They're just going to feed off each other's stupidity and immaturity until they're head butting more CTE into each other in their assisted living facilities.

We will see. The details on her are as scarce as they come. I am not convinced she is a true football/sports fan. She seems more like a stereotypical rich wife type that seems to be more socially active than actually truly interested in the team.

I am not personally getting an Irsay daughters vibe. That is a third generation of NFL ownership, so it's literally in their bloodline to an extent.

That's not my personal read on Nicole.

The hope is that she'd hire football people and just smile and wave to the crowd.

I mean, honestly, I would just rather have a good NFL owner. She still has to make big decisions on who those football people are. If you fug that up right out of the gate, it's all lost.

I don’t know how much I’d count on skattaboo playing again. Like yeah it’s just a broken bone but his feet were pointing at 12 and 6, respectably.

If Tepp did not like and still believe in BY, BY would be gone… AND/OR it was a Tepper pick the entire time and he does not want to look like the neophyte he is. Tepper has shown 0 reservations on canning people he doesn’t believe in, but yet BY still remains?

There was no way any legitimate QB competition would be televised for Panthers Nation to see. Imagine the optics:  Bryce comes out the first series or 2, throws his usual ducks against the first string D. Next QB comes in and doesn’t necessarily look great, but he connects on a few 30 yard lasers. The team knew that Dalton would pose no threat so he was allowed to stay.

Tepp can close training camp to the public, he can control the propaganda machine and ‘media’ coverage, but he can’t control the televised games where the 2nd and 3rd string QBs play almost the entire time.

In what world does Jack Plummer get brought into training camp in back to back seasons? If he wasn't good enough once, he's not going to be good enough the second go round. There's plenty of Plummers out there. Pick one.

David Tepper who completely went out of his way to wax poetic to anyone that would listen about how generational of a talent Bryce Young was once upon a time is still very much reeling from the trade to #1 and everything that it cost compared to the returns. And you can bet your ass he's very sour seeing the combination of the #1 pick we traded and DJ Moore winning a playoff game in an NFL city that is anything but a breeze to be successful in. Add in the egg he has on his face from having both Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield on the roster and seeing them have success elsewhere and you get what you get now which is David Tepper hellbent on keeping the Bryce Young experiment going until the very bitter end.

Yeah, I don't believe the Tepper-not-involved-anymore line. He has just learned to operate a bit more discreetly and not throw drinks on people.

    • Like many of the old heads, I’ve been here for a long time.  I got a lot of respect for everyone on this board for your dedication to this team.  We’ve all been through it during the tougher years. At this point in life, I’m not one to judge anyone’s level of dedication, or their reasons why anymore.  Time, and a lot of bad football, will do that.  For me, it’s simple.  We share a common bond.  For that, I love and appreciate all of you crazy SOB’s. For me, last season was at a minimum, entertaining.  BY lead a young team to multiple come from behind 4th qtr wins.  That showed me heart, and that he has the clutch gene.  That’s the wildcard intangible.  For me, that was fun to watch even  if it was mindbogglingly frustrating at times.  Over the past two seasons, we have progressively built a better team around him.  On paper, the defense should be better this season.  That’ll help.  Let’s see what he can do as the other guys continue to develop too.  Besides, his contract is cheap for a few more years, and we just made some smart cap decisions during the draft. Let’s see how it shakes out.
    • Hiring Shula & his Cam save us playbook.
    • I would very much liked to have seen Jake Delhomme's career if Tommy Jone no hurt Jake.  I just know that roster and the leadership were destined to hit paydirt but Jake was never the same after the elbow injury, and unfortunately he was the sole reason they didn't make it back to the big one.  I think that 08 team was the best in the league, and Jake masked his inability well all season til the Arizona game put it all on display.  I'll go back to the season prior even and say the 07 team was primed to be a competitor.  Jake was off to a fantastic start that year (for a Panthers QB).  They may have been a championship caliber club for a few seasons after 08 too.
