I get it. I'm just saying that's why I wouldn't. Trying to get to the top by out-desperating other desperate teams is more likely to end up winning a race to the bottom.

Everyone here knows I've been ready to move on from Bryce but I'd rather ride with Bryce than back up the Brinks truck to roll the dice on Willis with a contract with cap crippling guarantees.

No, he is not a QB that can win a Super Bowl. Consistency is great and all but against Super Bowl caliber teams that can take away what makes him look decent, the run, he will never be a QB you can win a Super Bowl with and that is all I care about.

Not a fan of taking a project QB to be our primary backup. As a developmental QB3? Sure. But you want your primary backup to be able to actually halfway produce if you need him to.

If Bryce goes down week 1 I find it very difficult to believe that a rookie project like Taylen Green would be anywhere close to ready to start.

I'm not against drafting a QB with his tools, but not as our #2 this season.

I mean I think he offer more value than a traditional backup because day 1 he comes in on sneaks something we don't have. Day 1 he could be used in goal line packages and red zone runs. We just finished a season with zero ability Dalton as a backup and at the least this kid can run. If he shows more than that you ship him out of here for a small bounty and consider it a win.

Most teams don't carry 3 QBs so those days of developmental project stash are over. He's probably moved himself into round 3 consideration. He's better than Jalen Milrose.. that's the bar.

I think we're largely speaking the same language. It's put up or shut up for Bryce Young this year.

Agree. I can't hold him to wins/losses (that's a team stat), but he has to command the offense and put up more competitive numbers. In my opinion, there should be enough on the offense to have success right now before the draft and FA - even with Yosh as the starting LT. 2nd year TMac, 3rd year Coker, 2nd year Etienne, 2nd year Horn, 2nd year Evans, 3rd year Sanders, Chuba, and Tremble. If Brooks is back to form, then that's the homerun threat we've been missing out of the backfield. If BY starts reading deep to shallow, instead of shallow to deep, then you'd likely get something out of Legette too. Either way, it's enough to put together a "respectable" offense without so many complete lapses in games. Difference between me and you is I think his biggest issue is not being aggressive often enough. You seem to think he just doesn't have the physical ability to be a QB in the NFL. This may be his last chance in Carolina to prove us wrong. If he doesn't, he'll play 2027 on the 5th year option as they look for his replacement.

Damn we almost agree.  
I think he is limited. I don’t think 20 yards is deep enough to consider him a good deep ball thrower. 
But we agree that the field needs to be stretched. The defense needs to feel legitimately concerned about all of the field. You cannot have that unless you threaten it. 
 

Right now they are playing the odds that one throw and catch is a fluke and they have a better chance not worrying about it.

Case in point the Rams regular season, he did it once and they still left it unaccounted for. Who else would defenses play that way?

Green has a howitzer and is an athletic marvel.  He however cannot play the qb position very well.
