Tony Pauline: Panthers will strongly consider Kenyon Sadiq if he’s there @19

Recommended Posts

Interesting note from @TonyPauline on the #Panthers 1st round pick, @oregonfootball TE Kenyon Sadiq has to be a consideration if he’s available and Carolina could target a top CB at 19. #KeepPounding

@TonyPauline wrote: “Heading towards the draft, the Panthers now have the luxury of looking at other positions. If tight end Kenyon Sadiq happens to fall to the 19 selection of the first round, he has to be a consideration, and they could also target a top cornerback.”

Lets blow another pick on offense for us to still put up bottom third of the league numbers.

We havent used a 1st round pick on D since 2021 its time for that to end unless a great OT drops to us.

I wouldnt be thrilled about getting the 4th best OT when we really don't need a starting LT this season. TE is a no for me forever in the 1st round.  DT seems to be the best option at 19 imo

If you look at the current roster, the "upgrade" spot is either slot/starter TE or NB. Plus like it or not they are going hard/all-in this year, so drafting a backup OT maybe not high in the plans(not that I agree). I feel they will draft more of "help right now 2026" 1st rounder. So that's TE, slot, NB, or maybe DL *but the DL group is weak and got weaker with banks injury news. Given you don't want to use 1st on NB, that's leaves TE or slot. There's only one TE worth a first and the next had a insane combine and jumped into late 2nd range, otherwise wait til 4th. TE is like the RB group, one top prize, one mid and bunch of 5th+/- rounders.

The high odds that WR will be BPA, so huddle prepare thy anus....

what’s his 10 yard dash time?

I think its 1.49, but I will the the official time and numbers(he tore it up).

Besides his frame, he's top .000001%

But can he block edges?? what's his route tree?? those are the issues.

personally I feel he should be in the discussion, among 4/5 others. Who knows the new hire Darrel bevell may change the offense system some, I hope he does......

I was actually trying to be funny as that’s as far as Bryce throws the ball usually. But lo and behold he has a god time. Useful

I think our biggest need currently is DI. We havec one starting caliber DI. Bobby Brown and Turk Wharton are not needle movers. If this position gets adressed before the draft (DJ Reeder!), I'd be okay with drafting Sadiq.

    • You're saying the same thing as I said.  Until Jordan becomes an active part of recruiting and funding, this school will continue to fall way behind.  But to say Michael Jordan or the Jordan brand doesn't matter anymore, which is what you said, is flat out wrong.
    • I have not learnt my lesson and will always want Uber athletic profiles. Sorry, Im a whore about it.... Im not the right guy to defend Kenyon, I just have a understanding with this years draft, numbers, and panthers roster. He is more of "upside/project" and we are talking 19th pick here too.  I know about the years of all the mock drafts with TEs in them and I did want Pitts too.... Look I love the current TEs on the roster too, just this guy should be better than any of them at their best.  Right now I feel OT is the correct target, but panthers as a org are trying to win in 2026 than 2027. So tea leaves and all, Kenyon would help this year. You can even say flex him to slot for most of the snaps and think of tmac on smoke routes with Kenyon blocking for him. I just hate BY is the shooter..... warren, I would say he's the better prospect even without his rookie year, *but he was late bloomer like XL if Im right, plus age was 25ish?? Bears picked love above him, mainly cause of recs.  You can make a case that Kenyon is not a TE, but a moving weapon for offense that can be in the backfield, on the LOS, slot, and even X.... imean he's got XLs combine on some numbers.... He would be better to a offense mad scientist type...is that Dave? or is that bevell?? I think the Panthers should have him as a 19 pick, with others...
    • That's one of the best power play games I've seen us have in a while.
