Lets blow another pick on offense for us to still put up bottom third of the league numbers.

We havent used a 1st round pick on D since 2021 its time for that to end unless a great OT drops to us.

What does that matter if you have spent tons of assets and money on defense. Look at where the majority of the cap is it's on defense. You literally just added a pro bowler and a potential top 15 pass rusher.. that's more a sure thing than a draft pick. Who cares if you spend draft picks on offense in that case

What assets? The defense has been neglected yet casuals still expect them to win us games.

We have went OT, QB, QB+WR, WR.

Yet the offense is still garbage because of the huge anchor we have tied to it.

Now people want a first round TE which rarely ever works out.

Loyd asset, Phillips asset, Morigh asset, Warton asset, Bobby brown III, you spent over 100 mil on Jayce. Flip to the offense some guards.. you haven't spent on offense or really drafted anyone outside the first round picks. leggette was a bad pick so just throw that in the trash and yes the offense is still worse than the defense. I know how much you all love defense.

But the fact is the defense is in much better shape than the offense... You have legit 3-4 players who have been or could make the pro bowl on defense.. on offense.. maybe tet? And one of the 2 guards. So yes offense needs more firepower to get over the hump no matter what you think about Bryce.

I would be less skeptical of drafting Sadiq in the first if he was a Gronk, Witten, Warren type or a prolific pass catcher. Combine isnt enough to rate him over the trenches for me.

If offense you grab your RT of the next 10 years not a TE in name only.

TE in the first is a luxury pick.  Something we most certainly are not in a place to do.  Keep building the defense

I'm not against grabbing a right tackle but I think the tight end helps elevate the offense more this season if you're trying to make a run for a championship specifically Sadiq. He adds a matchup nightmare component we don't have we have only one full-time offensive player that runs a 4-3 and that's legit then he shouldn't be around much longer to have that type of player at tight end is huge

if Sadiq is on the board then the OTs probably aren’t so it’s potentially an irrelevant discussion

Mauigoa, Freeling, Fano (who has real length concerns). Mike Renner has said he’s had multiple NFL people tell him Kadyn Proctor is going way higher than people think he is. (Btw why don’t we get more tidbits like this posted here anymore? Juan you’re slacking)

at what point does TE1 instant contributor outshine OT4/5/6 redshirt season for you?

The team obviously isn’t worried that drafting a TE is going to make Bryce look good and all their dumb Huddle opinions look bad (like people here, if the point wasn’t clear enough) so that’s a more pertinent discussion point. I do see the value of taking a redshirt OT-but it’s not going to outpace the value of taking a TE1 plug and play impact starter, especially at a position that has proven tough to pin down.

II see it this way: We have to look at long-term needs and current depth.  We have filled some key spots with players on one-year contracts.  I firmly believe that they intend to pay Bryce some big bucks next year.  That means you cannot hope that your rookies in 2027 can fill the spots vacated by the veterans you could not afford to re-sign.

We need to consider the cap and the fact that the need to start a rookie is not viewed as a positive by coaches and general managers, but they value first contracts--so it is a delicate balance.

I think they have to look at the cap by position--"Can we afford a $50m QB and a $100m OL?  That is half the cap, before you pay your WRs and RBs and TEs.  They need to start getting younger on the OL as well.

I am not suggesting that we draft OT in round 1, but we could and I would get it.  RT on a 1-year deal, they may have intel about Ickey (who was not the best LT, to be honest) and 32-year old Moton is on a bad wheel.

Now if you go by Morgan's history, you can almost tell what position we are going to address with the first pick by noting the positions he has not focused on in free agency.  DT, considering the lack of performance by those not named Derrick Brown and the loss of Robinson, is screaming to be addressed with a top player.  Wharton is not an early down DT (DE if you want to get technical) and our LBs need to be clean--they were not in 2025.  Look for a DT early.

I also think we will address ILB (pass covering Will) on day 2.  The other day 2 pick will be an OT, in my view.

Do not rule out CB.  We are thin there too, and Jackson is in his final year.  I am not sure that we love Smith-Wade.  Some crackhead on here talked about moving him to S----stay tuned.

Hopefully, a team wanting Ty Simpson will move up and offer us a pick or two to move back.

  • DT
  • WILB
  • OT
  • OC
  • QB  (you heard it here 337th--but this pick could come sooner than you think.

    • Didn't know where to post this but it is panthers relevant since eventually we'll have a couple wr in Coker and tmac that will get paid. Jaxon Smith-njigba just signed a 4 year $168.6 million contract extension that now makes him the highest paid wr in nfl history. For now
    • Would be happy with Lomu or Iheanachor at 19. Fano is intriguing but I don't think he makes it.
