That may have been the guy I just posted about. Too late for me to edit, I left that out. The van and the timeline sound like there’s a fair chance it is the same guy.

That may be him.  He was a great guy.  I worked overseas so I really didn't know anyone but he and his family treated me really well and I have an amazing day.  Didn't hurt the Smitty destroyed Fred Smoot who was running his mouth about shutting him down.

I met on other huddler at another game but it was just a short conversation and 15+ years ago.

The game with the photo was September 14 2003 in TB. Panthers 12 TB 9.

I looked for the photo for a little bit couldn’t find it. But I saw it a few years ago because I revisited that game. So it probably still exists.

I miss many of the OGs like @ladypanther

Zob had a bad off week and came in here to do some mopping and a couple of the 10 year 15k post account he just banned over a silly disagreement, just odd behavior from Zob. A Pessimal deal happened with Lady and others. I tired to find a new forum and could not get around the signing up part...same for discord.

Its not perfect here by any means, but I still feel welcomed here for the most part and this place does have the most freedom. I hate how the right vs left BS nearly cooked this place, I still believe in removing the litterbox, toxic as hell and lollolols @ anyone coming into a team forum to talk about pointless politics of the uni party turds.

@Bear Hands you saved this place with your activity. It helped offset the lost of OGs and the knowledgeable that leftd.

It would help for new members and I do get the spammers deals, just got to mod them away and hope opening the door brings in fresh blood.

I remember going to the Carolina/Viking game in 2005.  I met one of the Huddlers (forget his name) He had a pimped out Carolina Van that was awesome.  I joined his tailgate.  Sadly, he passed away a year or so later.  It was probably the saddest news I ever heard about this place.

Buzz didn't pass away.  He is living in hickory.

Then I don't believe we are talking about the same guy unless someone reported his death and wasn't telling the truth.

I am just remember a little by reading through this and looking back.
I think pantherfanz had a bus. Like a small bus all decked out for tailgates. Short bus. Someone else may come along and straighten me out or confirm.

edit: the death timeline matches up, it wasn’t a real long time after the first Jake season that he passed. Couple of years sounds right.

I was here back in 2004 when it was  called PanthersHuddle, went in and out for years and registered a couple of different times. Definitely a love and hate relationship because there were too many people talking politics back in the day. Never met any Huddler in person but have always appreciated this place for true fandom. Sadly, the Huddle has been dying a slow death since 2020 or so.  Maybe people will eventually figure out that Twitter, Reddit and other social media is just not a great place to have discussions like we do.

The forum format has not been surpassed for organized and compartmentalization (of) discussions that could run on in a thread for years.

This place was much better before covid.

I’ve been here since 2008. I survived a permanent ban from Zod a couple years ago when we were awful and he took it out on some of his faithful (albeit annoying) posters. I think I got on here and begged @LinvilleGorge and @CRA to let me back in weekly.

I don’t post here as much but I love you guys and this community.

the fact that you cant sign up a new account for over a year now is crazy! I've totally forgotten my password I think. Should have this computer for a long time considering I bought it about 14 moths ago. Been on and off posting for about 15 years now. First found the huddle when we drafted Cam as I wanted to know if he would actually be good or not(he was thank god). Hope Zod returns one day, At least he pays the bill to keep the site up, would be nice if one day it was owned by someone truly invested.

    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
    • I mean, our TE room does suck but we had other pressing needs and no surefire upgrades in the draft. I was surprised at how many TEs went in the first three rounds. I think most everyone was. You want a guy who projects at least as a guy who has the potential ceiling to be a starter in those rounds and I didn't see 11 of those in this draft. Off the top of my head, I think that's how many TEs went in the first three rounds. It was in that range. That's roughly 10% of the overall picks. Definitely did NOT see that coming with this TE class.
