Didn’t even watch that game and all I needed was to look at CJ’s size, look at him throw with his footwork all refined.. toes pointed where he was throwing, great form, watch the flight of the ball..

And then do the same test with Bryce. Lol who in their right mind chooses Bryce?

I said leading up to the draft that Bryce looked like the typical great college QB who simply doesn't have what the NFL is looking for and goes as a mid-round flyer to a team drafting him as a backup but hoping he can prove them wrong. I never looked at Bryce and saw a 1st rounder much less a #1 overall.

I thought Ty Simpson went too high in this draft and he would probably be a sideways move from Bryce lol.

Blows my mind how you could watch that Ohio State Georgia game and not take CJ. He's regressed but I think it's in part to them giving him the Cam and Burrow treatment of gutting their O-line

If you get a second chance with knowledge of the outcomes you dont trade up at all. You resign Darnold for relative  pennies and keep Moore and your draft picks and invest in OL.

Yeah, I don't see it with Simpson. Honestly not Mendoza either in terms of a #1 overall type pick. I honestly think he has borderline top 10 NFL QB type potential. Which is he achieves that he'll probably be worth the pick.

I never thought a second look was even necessary. I was begging the football gods not to have us trade up to the 1st pick. And damn once we did it was a thoroughbred vs a little pony.

If you have a perceived generational player in the pool and you have the 1st pick, you just don’t trade it. In the first place.

But all this Bryce drama - which (understandably) takes over almost any thread, just like this one - would never have happened if the team was not sold to Tepper.

"If you could change any one instant in Carolina Panther history, ... just ONE, ... what would it be?

Initial gut reaction when I first thought of this question is Kasay kicks it in bounds on the kickoff, but unfortunately I still think New England wins that game even with that

My second instinct was pulling Bene out before he breaks his leg in the playoffs. My crackpot theory is if he never gets hurt we win the superbowl. I refuse to go back and watch the game but at some point Peyton throw an absolute duck that should have been pick 6'd. but because we were on our like fifth outside corner he was slow to the ball. this would have completely flipped that game because I'm pretty sure Denver scored that drive and the next one was the Cam sack fumble

Cam Newton’s shoulder injury in 2016 during a Week 14 game against the San Diego Chargers. Kelvin Benjamin not making an attempt to tackle the Chargers defensive back cost us our MVP Quarterback. Cam's shoulder was permanently messed up and despite the surgeries he still delt with chronic pain and soreness and never really had even half the arm strength he did before the injury.

Cam’s shoulder changed the entire trajectory of the franchise.  Not sure if it was the tackle post-interception or the TJ Watt hit.    If the window for cam stayed open, I feel confident Luke grinds it out a bit longer too.

    • Brah, they signed Devion Lloyd. Hes a top 5 ILB for the last 2 seasons at Pffffffft. Another off-season of weights for Prince and Nic. Pat Jones is back and hungry . Lee dropped to the 4th round and has skills to be a CB starter. Thor is coming back.  Tre'von Moehrig is the second best defender and has another year in this system.  There's some young talent here, its time.
    • I’m greedy, was hoping we went all out on defense this draft, I think we’ll float in that top 12-15 range defense rank wise
    • Our biggest addition Jaelen Phillips has a significant injury history to include a ruptured Achilles followed by a torn ACL. We failed to add a much needed starting safety, ilb, and/or nickel in the draft.   Lee Hunter is nice but ends up being a wash considering the loss of A'Shawn Robinson. Injuries could cause problems for a unit lacking depth.  Top ten seems a bit ambitious with a likely upgrade in strength of schedule.
