John Fox's biggest weakness as head coach...

Playing too conservative with a marginal lead.

Could this come into play Sunday? I think so. The Broncos could very well be up by 10 in the 3rd quarter. If that happens, will Fox institute Fox ball and shut down the explosive offense for a more run the clock mode? Can we capitalize on that?

Smartest thing Elway did was put two offensive coordinators against Foxy.

Manning won't let him try and slow down the game.

In a magical world, this game would be where Rivera paints his masterpiece, works with McD'erm this week and re-creates that crazy ass D that the Falcons used to such great effect on MNF a month or so back.

In the past that's been true. But, he didn't pull it with the Saints last week. Peyton has a lot of control on Offense.

We need Cam to be an absolute beast in the passing game if we want to beat Denver. Gotta make the tough pass...and we gotta catch it (Olsen)..

Denver is solid

Panthers wins: We win if all three of these things happen

Cam's throws for less than 300 and no more than 28 passes.

Panthers run the ball effectively with the running backs

Panthers don't turn the ball over.

Panthers losses: We lose if any of these things happen

Cam throws for over 300 yards.

The only run game is Cam.

Panthers turn the ball over.

i was going to say game time adjustments. tapping the brakes was the only adjustment that he ever made.

peyton is by far the smartest coach on that team. the only way to beat him is to put his stiff-necked head on a swivel. you've got to play fast and tight. i think at best all we can do with him is slow him down.

on offense, tho, chud just needs to change up things a couple times. let fox think he knows what to expect and then change things on him. he'll pretend and act as if it isn't happening. no adjustments. he does what he does well, but he'll only do it one way.

John Fox comes to Carolina for revenge with Peyton Manning and a solid defense in tow against a 2-6 Panthers squad that beat a coachless Saints team and a Redskins team whose coach verbally admitted he's given up on the season.

I smell a Carolina blowout.

not

    • I wonder if they'd consider trading Rasheed Walker to a team that needs tackle help but missed out in the draft?
    • LOL. This is such a Panthers fan take.  Anyone who falls to us must suck because some other team didn't take them before.  We got lucky with Lemon, Thieneman, and Freeling all falling to us (honestly any of the three is a A+) but the WR and S positions are much deeper than the LT position in this draft.  We got the LT w/ the most upside at 19.  Mauigoa played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the nfl.  Spano played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the NFL due to short arms.  Blake Miller played RT in college and is not as good as Freeling.  Proctor is a true LT but his ability to handle quick edge's worries me (see Icky).  Freeling is a true LT and a gifted pass protector.  Many think he has a very high ceiling and will benefit from not having to start right away.  This is how you build a franchise.
    • After watching Cam get killed for years behind a bad Oline and having to watch the 2021 and 2023 Olines I will never complain about this team putting resources into that spot.  We got a true LT who could really push Rasheed Walker for the day 1 job. Go back and watch Iceky's draft profile from 2022 and all the talk was Ickey would be an all-pro guard in a zone blocking scheme, but he could play LT in a gap power run scheme. That's why Ickey looked really good when Wilks took over and we just started running gap run plays and just mauled people up front but under Canales we've been more of a zone running team. Ickey can survive at LT with his pass blocking but his true strength will always be his ability to just move guys in the run game and that's a skill set that's better used at guard.  Take another OT later on day 3 to learn from Moton to take over RT in a couple of years and let Walker and Freeling battle it out for the day 1 LT job then next offseason trade one of Hunt of Lewis and let Ickey move inside to guard.
