But there is one undeniable truth that revealed itself over the weekend: A healthy Crabtree is the answer the 49ers needed to make a return trip to the Super Bowl. Their path will be arduous, sure. The three remaining teams in San Francisco's path to Super Bowl XLVIII all beat the Niners in the regular season. But I believe San Francisco can beat Carolina this weekend and can beat either New Orleans or Seattle in the NFC Championship Game.

I believe Harbaugh and the Niners will be playing four Sundays from now.

Crabtree is that much of a difference-maker. He is that special.

Harbaugh obviously believes it too.

Crabtree makes the entire offense better. He makes it more multiple. Now, San Francisco can attack the entire width and depth of the field. The 49ers can attack all three levels vertically.

So, was this guy playing against the Packers (weak D)?  And doesn't Kap have to be able to get him the ball?

Panthers got this.

I was also watching NFL network talk about the game. They opened with San Francisco and the panthers and immediately began talking about Seattle and San Francisco playing. It's really pathetic and sad when Heath Evans is the voice of reason. He spoke of how weak the Packers defense was.

The worst part about this week will be the national media picking the 49ers to win the game. They'll come up with dozens of different reasons why. If GB had won, then they'd be coming up with reasons why GB would win. Sick of it.

I love it.

    • I’ve rarely ever been more sure of anything than losing out — but how can anyone say with a straight face “Bryce hasn’t improved, but Canales has and he’s masks his flaws”. You have to be so out of touch with reality to put one way above the other when discussing those two.
    • Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!
