Agree/disagree: LaFell is better than Cotchery, Underwood, and Avant

I guess between the 3 of them and Olsen, we can get our 12 catches a game, after all that's all they talked about when they cut Smitty. Gettleman: "Dont worry Panthers fans, all we need is 12 catches per game"

I will say that these signings make it more and more likely that we take an o lineman with our pick in the first.

Plenty of times I threw my hands up after a dropped pass sayin "Oh wee mayne".. I like LaFell, but he never made the transition to solid.. From what I know of Cotchery & Avant, they are both that. Dont know much about Underwood, so cant quite call it...

Was LaFell better than Carter or Colbert? All showed flashes, none were solid..

Can I say push? I mean, none of the guys we signed are world beaters. LaFell wasn't the best thing since sliced bread, either. But, LaFell could block and had a role.

Basically, they're all pretty much jags at this point (maybe except for Cotchery).

I have to disagree. I think Lafell is good but I cant say he is better. They, with the exception of Underwood (because i dont know him well enough) have better & more reliable hands. Also, we have to look at the fact that all these receivers have played in different situations. One had Jets QBs until he got to play with Big Ben then he put up 10 TDs, the other Tampa QBs (behind Vjak & Mike Williams), one had Philly QBs (which had djax and coop infront of him, not to mention maclin when healthy) Im just not sure they have had the opportunity that lafell has had. IMO. Greatest example to help make my point: Ted Ginn.

If the question is asking for all 3 combined, then no he his not, and not even close really, especially when you take into account of how cheap they are.

However, LaFell IMO never reached his full potential here and being on NE may give him a chance to excel but if we're talking about the LaFell of the past years then I'd take Cotchery over him. I don't know how many times I got frustrated with LaFell dropping a key pass or not being able to adjust to a ball. He's a great athlete with a good body frame but he never bulked up enough, nor did he ever get the hands we needed out of a WR opposite of Smitty.

Cotchery will catch passes over the middle for us and in the Redzone and although he may not make the 25+ yard plays that LaFell made, he will be more consistent than he ever was.

Even though the Panthers backdoored their way into the postseason in 2025 as NFC South champions with an 8-9 record, Young's performance was up-and-down.
