Report: Panthers Not Expected To Bring Back Hardy

Mr Mojo Risin

Recommended Posts

They better, because you don't just let elite pass rushers go. Gettleman has a planned up his sleeves and I wouldn't be surprised at all if we go DE in the first round.

Hardy's very good.  i don't know that I'd go with 'elite' though.  J J Watt is elite.  Hardy's not on that level.

But here's the thing: People in this thread are assuming that the defense will automatically not be as good without Hardy.

That's not actually the case.

It's still a team sport, and just because you're less talented at one of eleven positions doesn't automatically mean the unit as a whole is worse.

You have to look at the big picture.

Sorry Scot but I disagree. There may be 3 players on our roster that can do what he does collectively, but no one player.

Guys like Hardy are hard to find. He is good against the run, he can line up in the interior, he can defend both RB and QB on the read option, he can chase down runners, he can drop into coverage, etc.

Oh, and he can single handedly dominate games with 3 or 4 sacks and get you 15 over a season.

And he is only one year older than Cam Newton. Meaning, he is just entering his prime.

We can still be good without him, but we are better with him.

He will not be easily replaced

not to mention, he used to be a gunner on the punt team. at 6'4 260.

you cannot say you love pass rushers, and DL, and have one of the best ones in the league walk from your team. i still think he gets an offer from the panthers, but it may not be to his liking.

So a new precedent has been set, JR seems to now think being accused automatically equals being guilty. I just cannot comprehend the mindset of not brining him back on the cheap if he's found not guilty, players love him and want him back. This could have a big effect in the locker room.

A beloved player in the locker room ownership has already deemed guilty before his trial. This might be one of the biggest mistakes this organization has made if found not guilty. Imagine if Baltimore let Ray Lewis walk to another team even though he was found not guilty and he was on trial for accessory to murder!! I really can't wait until we get new ownership.

Look on the bright side. This now makes room to add a guy that says yes sir and no sir and contributes to the community!! Super Bowl baby!

Being accused? He was found guilty in a court of law! Why does everyone keep forgetting that?

So the observer says he we arent EXPECTED to resign him..

This has no weight to it. Its just fluff. nfl.com.. wow!! They MUST know whats up.

Who IS expecting him back?

No offense to some of you but this article proves nothing. This could be about boiled eggs.. its just anoying to me how the media can literally say NOTHING about ANYTHING and people literally take it and completly digest it and change their whole thoughts about whatever. Bunch of flies on poo

Normally I would agree with this and there is some truth re: the way the claims are sourced.

But the guy who runs this site and has legit inside knowledge has been saying hardy is 100% done since the middle of last season.

    • The hell happened to our Te's...I gigured Evans would get a biggercroke coming off the bye week? Sanders?? He might need to put that weight back on. He's been about as underwhelming as Wonnum. And Tremble looks nothing like he used to btw.  Xavier in the top 5? Nah...Moton in the top 5? Pretty sure I saw him getting beat multiple times 3rd/4th qtr.
    • I agree 100%.  Just to add, ANYONE that wants to sign BY to some 300+ million nightmare/contract, they can kick rocks first.  Like you said, brad adds nothing. This is war, just bring in a bright forward thinking OC that's going to come up with new plays and ........a fing game plan to beat a 1-8 or 3-10 team...... challenge the defense to defend every blade of grass and evolve this team.... By my eyes Dave is just another Ron Fox wilks 4.2 with his only success being if the score is low and able to run enough...(minus one game.) fug that, thats another big issue, Im just sick of the coach hires, its too many since Rhule.  Dave has earned the right to stay, but.......If Dave doesn't want his pilates lover to go be a video assistant for underdawg or whatever betting site that gives him a salary. Peace out bro....
    • If it were that simple, Reich and Canales would have already done it. The next HC would have the same happen. If Canales is gone, I wouldn't be surprised if Tepper elevates Evero to keep him around with Bryce, Tremble and Chuba as agreed upon long term offensive pieces. I believe Reich and Canales would have gone different directions at QB and DC if they were allowed. Wilks even made it known this organization doesn't make the HC the primary partner in personnel decisions. Before the HC even gets a chance it likely goes Nicole > David > Dan > Brandt > Eric > Benjamin 1 > Benjamin 2 > HC I highly doubt hanging the HC wouldn't fix all the problems over his head.
