Panthers Re-sign Ed Dickson

Surprised at the excitement over this move. How many times must we as panther fans see that whatever happened at the end of last season doesn't really mean jack for next season.

Besides, like 2-3 okay games near the end, compared to an overall season of meh has me feeling....

meh about this.

Look at what he had to do for most of the season though...

Like a lot of other guys, he was forced into a role that he was never very good at.  I don't expect any numbers like Olsen puts up, but I think he'll do pretty decent.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind giving him a look at more of an H-back type role and try to have him replace Tolbert.

Eh, I don't have faith he's mentally quick enough to do blitz pickup properly back there. Better to keep him on the line and let him see his assignment.

I think consistency is often overlooked. Not just with the players but with staff as well. I know we as fans often act emotionally and want this person gone or that coach fired (hell we even want our beat writers fired). And I've never really been a fan of Rivera but I think teams that consistently win and get to the post season have less turnover than other teams.

I finally see the Panthers getting that consistency. Of course moves will be made by all teams but, to me, consistency goes a long way. Good signing. Another guy here or there and the draft and I like our chances.

I do agree consistency is good, my only issue is that they're excited about signing back players that led to a 7-8-1 record. I realize Dickson was asked to block last season which isn't his thing but Voth is saying there's not much money left now.

We're basically going to field the same 7-8-1 team but with a new batch of rookies. Winning that last game in Atlanta doesn't look so good anymore, could've really used that 10th pick and grabbed a legit WR or OT

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
