Per Bleacher Report it's official, Getty signed Charles "Peanut" Tillman today. Don't know the specifics, just saw a pic of him signing his contract.

Is he the type to sign to be a backup? Because that's the only role he should have at this point in his career. If not he'll tear his triceps in week 3 and be good veteran leadership the rest of the year.

Would've felt better if it was Tillman of 5 or so years ago, but no real reason to feel bad about it. He's a great locker room guy and will be a solid mentor to the young corners.

This is more of a depth/mentoring signing.  That dude can teach players how to punch the ball out for fumbles better than anyone.  Doubt he has the speed to play outside corner anymore...

He was very good back when he was young, healthy and coached by Rivera.

 

Only one of those things is guaranteed at this point, and one is definitely no longer true.

 

He's reputed to be a great teammate in the mold of Thomas Davis though, so we'll see.
