I am considering adding a feature to the huddle for members who enjoy writing but want a way for the public to keep up with their articles in an easier fashion.

Huddle blogs would be a separate section but work seamlessly with the huddle. You would have your own link with your articles like any other blog, but huddlers could read and comment without making a new account or such. We would feature the better blog posts on the main page and in the forum. If you are looking to build a name for your writings, the huddle would provide a boat load of traffic to it.

It is an extra purchase for me, so I just wanted to gauge interest before investing. Please vote in the poll.

This is a hell of a concept. We have several people here that IMHO write better than most of the beat writers do to include Jeremy.

I think we can really make it worthwhile if we could select people like PhillyB, Mr Scott and a few others to dissect each game by position group much like we adopt players.

Say for example, somebody used to play O-Line or WR, while not an expert at that position necessarily it would work if they broke down a particular position group. I think this would be a better way to educate Huddlers and the common fan alike.

I'm all for this idea, and will even become All-Pro to help curb the cost.

This could really be some cutting edge stuff that can further set apart The Huddle from the rest of sports forums. Jeremy, you are a trail blazer bro. Glad to be apart of this, even though I suck for the most part.

while I realize that people like PU would be making blogs, I still think this would be a good idea. I like to post original game previews and it takes up more space than some huddlers want to read in a forum thread. a blog would give me the opportunity to post my write ups with the condition pre-set that it would be a long post.

I hope we do this Jeremy

Sure.  I'm ready to read all the crappy articles that Fairweather Joe puts out once Cam throws an interception, or CJ has under 8 sacks by the midway point of the season.

But for real though, yeah.  Even though you know there's inevitably going to be so many shitty articles it'll make Bleacher Report look like Grantland, there are at least a few intelligent and insightful posters who would make it worth while - assuming they post that is.

Give the minions a false sense of ownership.

Damm Igo, another good, on paper, idea. No resting on those laurels on your part. Very open minded, thinking of all angles, always looking for an edge, and all the while, never forgetting to allow the troops input type thinking of you.

That said. I would consider righting one of those blog thingys for you. You can count on me not to let you down. And would take the responsibility as serially as the position allows.

Also, I still am unable to purchase an ALL-Pro membership.

Funny, over the last year and a half I've written countless "articles" disguised as "comments" but deleted them because I figured no one wanted to read 3 paragraphs (or even 1) on what I was thinking. This would be awesome and I would jump at the opportunity.

Really hope this comes to fruition.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
