Brenton Bersin continues to impress

I really doubt Cotch brings as much to the locker room as everyone assumes he does. Last year maybe, but who wants to be mentored by an older guy who isn't very good? I'm sure the recievers look up to KB more now and Proehl brings the veteran experience.

Exactly. Maybe if it was a player who use to be an all pro, but it's Cotchery..

I've got nothing against Bersin.  I want him gone for one reason:  takes away possibilities for more bad decisions by Shula.  I don't fault Bersin for putting Bersin in bad situations.  I fault Shula.  Same reason I'd rather have Cotchery gone (flea flicker to Cotchery?!).  It's about putting a team out there that Shula can't fug up, because that's the only way to field a good offense.  Make it Shulaproof.  Because if he can, he will fug it up.

Do you sShula Proof it by  simply putting in new guys he doesn't know how to  utilize either?

I'm just not a fan of receivers past third on the depth chart that are slow and can't get seperation and Yac and don't play ST.

Agreed..

Bersin and Cotchery are the 2 least naturally talented Wr on the roster... Best case scenario neither one of them makes it.....

On any team, most people probably arent fans of the WRs who are past third on the depth chart.  I'd be interested to hear how many receptions and yards people think a WR4 should have..

Since he cant play ST, if he is as bad at getting separation as a lot of you think, it should be the easiest decision ever for the coaches to cut him...seems like a reasonable thought, right?

When youre talking about WR4s, you cant judge them like they are going to be a huge part of the offense.  They are guys that fill a very small specific role...  If Bersin can be a dependable guy that can move the chains on 3rd down every once in awhile, then thats about as much as you can expect from a WR4.  Anything more is just gravy.

    • Mel Kiper said he would retire if Jimmy Clausen wasn't a successful NFL starter too. Just because the experts make a claim doesnt mean it's true either.  Bryce may be a serviceable QB for someone. Serviceable QBs don't bring you a perennial winner or lead you to the playoffs over and over. Serviceable QBs also dont get 50m plus per year deals which is what a Bryce extension would look like.  The stats show he hasn't been even a serviceable QB in the 3 years he's been here. The eye test shows he hasn't put together 2 franchise QB salary games back to back in 3 years.  Complain all you want about people being negative, but people pointing out that Bryce is held to a different standard than anyone else on the team isn't complaining. It's stating the obvious.
    • We have big bodied WRs and 3 TEs who all have potential and each bring something different to the table. I never saw the need to go out there and try and find a new starting TE.  While it's nice to have a guy like McBride, Bowers, etc, I think a team's better use of the cap is by having TEs on rookie contracts or cheap vets, not having to pay elite TE money.
    • He had the award until like the last 8 games. He sucked ass and flagg had 3 40 point games
