How bout a little love for Oher

no sacks, no pressures against a very good D.

Yeah it's pre-season but

a: it was first game time with us

b. we were on the road against a good D

c. all we were asking for was be average and he went beyond that.

Huddle has been hard on this guy the off-season,...dude had a pretty good game in his first test..

Yup, the things I wanted to see in the game were mostly positive except for our still shitty punt coverage.  That said, our O-line played well against a very good D-line.  Yes our run game sucked, but Stewie is a known commodity, and when cam actually is a threat to run, our run game will open up.  On defense, we missed KK, Star, and CJ, those 3 are a huge part of our game plan while the bills were more urgent trying to show that there's reason for optimism this year.  All in all, biggest take away, no major injuries, a lot of teams wish they had the kind of first preseason game we did.

The Bills defensive line is no joke. One of the few in the league I would probably put ahead of the Panthers.

Very impressed with the pass protection. The run blocking needs work but confident it will come.

Oher definitely was a "winner" in his limited tin last night

If everyone things he is going to go Sack free this season.  Think again.  Even the very best get beat now and then.

JJ might get him a sack or two (god forbid) that isn't going to change that Oher is an upgrade over Bell.  Oher keeps J.J. to minimal damage I am ok with that.  I don't want the revolving door that Bell was but I don't see that happening.

I have believed from the very beginning Oher would do well and I still believe it.

    • frank, that ball was very catchable where it hit his hands. I don't even think he bent at waist until after he dropped it. He actually slows his pace to position himself to catch the ball. That will never be a pass I'd blame on the QB.   NFL+ _ Live Games on mobile, NFL RedZone, NFL Network and More! - Google Chrome 2026-01-15 13-54-54.mp4
    • https://overthecap.com/position/left-guard   Lewis is the 9th highest paid Left Guard in the league. I bet it was higher when the deal was done two years ago.    https://overthecap.com/position/right-guard Hunt #3 highest Right Guard   There is a tab in the upper left portion of the graphic that allows looking at the different positions.
    • It was a great play, but a better catch than throw. The TE boxes out Moehrig for position. Jumps to catch the ball. Catches it and turns 180 degrees while he's still in the air. Comes down and toe taps to stay in bounds and lunges for the goal post. That first part where he boxes out Moehrig for the ball is huge. If he doesn't do that and simply fades back to catch the ball (this is why Bryce doesn't trust XL), then Moehrig likely undercuts the pass for a break up or INT. Stafford trusts his receivers to make plays for him. Here I slowed it down so you can see it. Great play but amazing catch and score by the TE.  NFL+ _ Live Games on mobile, NFL RedZone, NFL Network and More! - Google Chrome 2026-01-15 13-45-32.mp4 NFL+ _ Live Games on mobile, NFL RedZone, NFL Network and More! - Google Chrome 2026-01-15 13-44-37.mp4
