Want to be optimistic? Holy hell, look at how easy our schedule is!

Let's see.. A sweep of the Bucs and Saints and a split with the Falcons plus the two that we won already, that's 7 wins. I see a win against the Redskins, Titans and Giants, that's 10 wins. Cowboys if Romo and Dez are out is another win, that's 11 wins, Philly is imploding that's 12 wins.

12-4. Loss to the Hawks, Colts, Falcons and Packers. Sounds right to me

But you're still predicting that the Falcons win the division????

When you struggle with teams like the Jags and Texans, nothing is going to be easy. Especially with our WRs and especially with Shula.

This is true, but we're going to have a HUGE margin for error this season because of the sheer number of winnable games on the schedule. Missing the playoffs would be unacceptable.

What the hell is everyone being so negative about!!!

i remember all the slow starts. I remember all the losses in our home openers over the years.

Everyone said we need to go 4-0 to get off to that fast start and set up the season since you know we finish well.

Well we are half way there so it is fantastic right now. We are right on target. I am not bitching while we are on such a good roll. I wish other folks felt the same way.

Im happy with any win we can get. we keep accumulating injuries and I just hope we can stay healthy.

Some teams that are struggling now will get better as the season progresses...so winning these games early in the season are crucial.

We just need to beat the teams we're favored against and pull off a victory or two in games we are the under dog and a wildcard birth (at worst,) could be ours.

Its a long season. Just glad we're winning!

I think there is such an odd vibe around here because we have an unusual team. We really don't know what to expect, but there is sort of this idea that when we face the top teams we're going to be destroyed. I don't see it that way, but that's the vibe around here. Actually I think this is just going to be an ugly year for the NFC. Yes GB will probably be dominant, but there are a lot of NFC teams that are our in our boat. Things are wide open right now, and we should improve as the season continues.

It's not so much about the record for those of us skeptics, it's about seeing things in the bigger picture. What injuries do we have? What struggles do we have? How does the other opponent look?

I don't think lacking optimism despite the start is a bad thing. It shows that we as a fanbase have expectations, like beating below average AFC South teams handily, and that's not a bad thing.

    • I can't tell you what other's expect from him before they will start believing in him. I think for some, they will never be able to overcome his size. I think that is the fundemental problem for them which means they will never be happy with him behind center. For others, it seems he will have to be in the top 10% in pretty much every catagory and do that all seaon for them to start believing in him. Not everyone of course. There are people on this board that, while have doubts, can still acknowledge his good plays and are willing to give him another season. Those folks I would assume just want consistency - and wins. I could be off on all the above but that's kind of how I see it. And while you didn't ask, I will say I'm glad they picked up his 5th year option. He earned it. I do not think he should be signed to a long term contract yet. I do think he will develope in a franchise QB and will get the Panthers back into the playoffs and win them but I know I could be wrong. Next year will be the big test. If the offense continues to improve and they get back to the playoffs because of the offense, it will be time to sign him long term. If it's a repeat of this year, then it's time to look elsewhere for a QB. Like I said though, I believe he can be the guy so would be surprised if he doesn't make it.
    • Well since I am so biased, why don’t you tell us what he has to do to earn the trust of everyone that doubts him? If you say he has already done it, we really will never agree.
    • Also, do you think it a bit odd that the media has ignored it? Maybe they haven’t. But I am not aware of it being written or talked about.
