He's just saying that's the normal time frame for the injury. However, I saw elsewhere that Cotch is expended to only miss a couple of weeks, so it appears to be a pretty mild sprain.

title edited... ian rappaport is really just giving his own diagnosis here to what we already know. it's still alarming, and we may be beneficiaries of a really, really good scheduling lineup. missing him for saints and bucs, following by a bye week, could be huge.

In other news, Tolbert and Stewart to see an increase in screen passes and dump offs.  That's where Cotch's targets will go.

Bersin did everything he was asked to do at WR. He is not and never should have been returning punts. That falls on the coaching staff for putting him in that situation. Guy caught 90% of everything thrown to him.

If they call Bersin up,  they can put Byrd back on the practice squad.

Big dropoff in the quality of safeties we're gonna face next 2 weeks. Jax S Cyprien and Houston S Rahim Moore are several notches above whoever the Stains have started for injured Safeties Byrd and Bush and 1st round bust Vaccaro. Same with Tampa's S Conte and McDougald and Wright, who are all remarkably unremarkable. Our passing attack should see more action with Funchess and Olsen down the middle of the field now that Ginn and Brown have had success deep and down the sideline
