So frustrating to have Ginn's return TD called back on Webb's penalty.

Also frustrating that we can't really seem to get all phases of our game in synch.  Offense was on fire with Cam 11 for 11 hitting Olsen and all the WRs... and yet our defense is struggling allowing tons of 3rd down conversions.  And Webb's penalty nullifies an awesome ST play.

Oh well... as long as we win, it will keep our team hungry and wanting to play better, won't get complacent.

Hopefully our D will make needed adjustments at the half.

[Note: I'm only listening on radio today, poor internet here, so I don't have a perfect feel for how we're playing...]

Never seen TD raise his voice like that at a ref because he is blatantly getting held every play. This is what its like to be the team with the target on your back, you get the dirty tactics every week from other teams and the refs pay it no mind. Luckily this has only made us a better team and not a shitty one.

I think Webb was upset that he got beat down field and like a little brat baby he decided to shove the guy in the back. It wasn't about helping Ginn, who was on the other side of the planet, but rather Webb being a selfish asshole and letting out his frustration. He's not good enough to get away with being like that and not being punished.

    • And really, it should be 4 reasons with the last one being that there were ZERO other offensive weapons on that team in 2024, opposing defenses only had to worry about one player all year long and they constantly double and triple teamed him right off the snap all season.  In 2023, we still had Jacob Cowing who had 90 catches that year and was drafted by the 49ers last year, so teams couldn't just send everyone after T-Mac on every passing down.
    • I wonder if the Hornets view Kon and McNeeley more as forwards and plan to ship off Green/Okogie/Smith for center help. I hope they don’t plan to ship off Sexton as I like what he brings to the team. (2) G - Ball, Mann, Simpson (two-way) (3) G - Sexton, Dinwiddie, Connaughton (3) F - Miller, Knueppel, McNeeley, James (two-way) (3) F - Bridges, Williams, Salaun (3) C - Diabate, Kalkbrenner, Plumlee
    • 3 main reasons he was better in 2023 and none of them concern me for his NFL prospects 1. Totally new coaching staff that was a massive downgrade and had god awful play calling and designs, the entire fan base was ready to run the coaching staff out of town a month into their first season and the play caller ended up getting changed because it was so bad. 2. Along with the staff downgrade, his QB played significantly worse after being the Pac 12 Freshman of the Year in 2023.  Constantly missed T-Mac when he was wide open, lost out on a number of TDs and a good amount of yardage, half the time T-Mac still almost made miraculous catches on the bad passes too. 3. He hurt his ankle over the summer and missed all of fall camp only to return to practice a few days before the season started and I think he had to deal with it all season long and was slightly limping at times mid season too, but kept fighting through it to still be a 1st team All American.
