To put this in perspective:

the Panthers were in their third year as an actively competing franchise. We're now in our 21st year.

Mike Minter was a rookie

Dan Marino was still playing. It was years before he would discover Nutri-System.

Peyton Manning was considered the top prospect in next year's draft.

gas was like 1.20 a gallon on average nationwide.

the number one film in the box office was Flubber

the no.1 hit on the billboard charts was Candle in the Wind 1997, a tribute to Princess Diana, who had died in a car accident recently.

Titanic was primed to release in theaters in the coming weeks and I had yet to gaze at Kate Winslet's glorious bewbs on the silver screen.

The Montreal Screwjob was still fresh in everybody's mind.

the top holiday video games were Crash Bandicoot 2, Tomb Raider II, and Gran Turismo.

Windows 98 was still called Memphis and wouldn't be released for another 6 months or so.

people who were born this month in 1997 are literally reaching adulthood right now, and that's how long it's been since the Panthers last defeated the Cowboys in the regular season. This game is 18 long years in the making. The Panthers are undefeated this deep into the season and the Cowboys have their backs against the wall scrambling to make something out of their once promising 2015 campaign. The Panthers right now are the team everybody thought the Cowboys should've been this year, dominating the trenches, looking like world beaters, etc. The Panthers are the team people thought would be in the Cowboys' situation right now, struggling, looking for answers, etc.

I expect nothing short of a thrashing. In order to accomplish this, Carolina, listen to me. For the love of God, do not let Tony Romo hang around in this game. The guy is a 4th Quarter Comeback artist and he basically had his sensational debut start against us in 2006. Sack him, knock him down, make him commit turnovers. Go up 21-0 in the first quarter. Try to score 30 before the half. The Panthers have been historically inept against the Cowboys, as has been demonstrated previously by so many throwbacks.

I write this thread in the hopes that somehow, the message will get back to the team this week. Nobody really talks about this winless streak because most of the NFL universe doesn't care that much about the Panthers. Nobody respects you guys. A 3-7 team is somehow a favorite to break your undefeated record. The latest slap in the face? Having your nationally televised game switched to Cowboys/Dolphins in the third quarter yesterday. This is your first ever Thanksgiving game. In 1997, it was the first ever Monday Night game for the Panthers and they beat the Cowboys then, but haven't done it since. Beat them, kick them while they're down, don't give the NFL a chance to celebrate a David and Goliath story for Tony Romo.

Wasnt that a Monday Night game.  Won that game but then collapsed, sorta the end of the Dom Capers run.

    • Extrapolate that with every QB for that matter. I guarantee you there's quite a bit of missed opportunities and yards left on the field for everyone. Many NFL QBs deal with WRs not putting in A+ effort, subpar o-line play and other deficiencies. The great ones are able to rise above these issues and create opportunities for plays. Guys like Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes can both play in and out of structure, as well as find ways to get yards when things break down and mask mistakes by throwing guys open, creating opportunities from nothing, etc. Bryce Young has only shown he's able to make things happen when the rest of the team picks up his slack. Very rarely does he create those opportunities himself. When this is a consistent pattern year after year with Bryce where he shows up lackluster, it's a concern. This is year three and he should be elevating the team as a first overall pick this franchise traded up for.  He was far from elevating anyone against JAX. In fact, he needed others to elevate and create for him. Excuses may be fine for a rookie, but this is year three for the first overall pick. Not looking good so far.
    • I think the worst issue is coaching. Countless bad snaps, XL not getting his feet in or trying on runs plays, our centre being down field when he didn't need to be. All seem to be from poor coaching for me. I believe Canales is to soft to rip the players a new one when the fug up. Plus I honestly believe that Canales is slow getting his plays in giving Bryce less time to diagnose and adjust to the defence. Don't worry I could of head butted Bryce for that fumble and the 4th down throw aways but the other plays are explainable to me
    • No We have been making excuses for him for 3 years, and we have gave him a hundred chances  Bryce is a bust, and we need to cut him now and stop wasting everyone's time
