he has to play this week.. its the absolute best time for him to play... he needs to be out there all game long feeling out our system against an inferior oponent.  the way it see it,  hes got 5 scrimmage games to be ready.

Sean Peyton's been licking his chops watching the plays we let happen from the slot. Hopefully this pick up will slow it down a bit. It will certainly be interesting to watch. I know the Saints suck but I gotta feeling this is going to be a game.

You don't throw a 31 yr old out there for a full NFL game who hasn't put on pads since last season.   It ain't Madden.

He will probably get 10ish situational reps at nickel.  That's it.  They have to work him slowly into football shape and their scheme.

10 snaps could be pushing it.

This is a bad thread. Nowhere did McDermott say that Finnegan would be a starter. He said he would start off in the slot which means that is the position he will play. Not that he is going to be our full time slot guy.

I never said full time 'slot' guy. My mistake, S.M said he would start out at nickel. you are correct. Unless they plan on starting Jones again and letting Brees carve him up, then they really don't have much choice. Brees will go for the weakest link....which is Jones.

It clearly said "START OFF" in the slot.

He does need snaps though and now is the time to get them.  Limited snaps of course.  They know what they're doing at this point so at least be happy they took action on a deficiency.

    • Through 2 games cltfc has 12 shot attempts. Opponents 23 shots on target. Attack sucks, Defense definitely sucks. Kahlina is the only reason they haven't given up 14 goals in two games.
    • I met a few times--never liked him. I figured he might have had a bad day--but then realized that he must have a lot of bad days. Once he raised his voice at my son because my son did not understand a question when SS was signing his jersey.  I wanted the jersey to represent his encounter with a Panther great, not some small man with a bad attitude.  I told me son, "Forget it.  He was asking you what your name is (My son was about 7 and told me that he thought Smitty was going to write (my son's) name on the jersey.  He said "Dad, I thought he was supposed to write HIS name on the jersey, not mine."  I said, "He was personalizing it, writing it to you--like a birthday card."  He is now grown, and he has a steve smith Jersey that is framed and matted.  He keeps it is his closet.  I asked him, "Why not have that out on your wall?"  He said, "All I remember is an A-hole scribbled on my shirt.  I don't remember a legend or hero.  But he had a Jake Delhomme Jersey on his wall.  "Jake was great.  I will always remember that."  (Jake stayed and talked to us for about 5 minutes or more--GREAT guy.)
    • Is it possible for someone to regress in maturity as they age or has Steve really just been a jerk his entire life?
